Warning About Whooping Cough

Maybe that was it.
Yes, it had to be smallpox -- I still have that scar of course. I had a polio vaccine twice when I was a kid, the Salk shot first, which didn't leave me with more than a momentary pain (shots of any kind rarely do), then the Sabin which was oral, in a sugar cube if I recall correctly.

Europeans had some natural immunity to smallpox and other diseases but Native Americans did not which is why up to 95% of their population was wiped out. A lot of people did not develop scars from the vaccine because of that immunity.

I had polio before the vaccine was widely available. The treatment was weekly injections in my hip bone for a couple of months. Of what I don't know but I recovered. I still have a broken needle in my hip bone from one of those injections.

I though whooping cough was one of those diseases that had been eradicated by the vaxx's we got as kids. I can't remember anyone who has ever gotten it. But measles was declared 'eliminated' by the CDC in 2000 and is making a comeback especially here in Texas. If it ain't one thing it's another.
The whole world did not get vaccinations. That's why so many eradicated diseases are coming back to the USA starting in border states like Texas.

Glad you are on the mend, JudyJB. My wife Kim had whooping cough as a kid and had a very tough time with it!

She was also at the very end of the Smallpox vaccine. She's 7 months older than I am - she got it and I did not. She has that classic scar on her arm and will occasionally show it to me and say "you're welcome", LOL.

I like Larry N. got both polio vaccinations... I know I was the 2nd person in Florida (or at least the county) to get it... I have a news clip showing me and the 1st (a little girl) getting them... I had a 1 year younger cousin, that I was raised with, that got it at 2yrs old... She spent some time inside an iron lung, then, the rest of her life in a wheel chair... She did much with her life ( Our Passion - Who is Ann & UCanSki2 ) and passed away in 2015... I believe living her life in a wheel chair contributed to her passing.... Our next door neighbor, about the same age, had it, but mostly recovered... Before I was inoculated, I was put in a polio ward because the doctors thought I had it... My Dad pulled me out of bed and hit a attendant in the face that tried to stop him from taking me out of the hospital... I either didn't have it or at least showed no lasting affects from it... We still had the old wool blanket that was wrapped around me from the hospital for many, many years... Anyway it's my long winded way of saying that it is a horrible disease...

Planes can land anywhere, not sure what the border has to do with anything. These things spread exponentially, someone can land in Chicago, stand next to someone bound for Houston and it's on. Covid didn't arrive in this country from someone walking across the border, what would make anyone think measles did?

If you catch any of the above diseases just chug down some cod liver oil and you'll be cured.

No way dude. That'll kill ya'. Down a bottle of Clorox! that's the ticket!!

Chlorine dioxide. Anyone who has stayed at one of the many RV parks in Mesa, AZ drinks it in the water. In fact, it's estimated that 12 million Americans drink it in their water.
Mesa, every year or 2, also runs straight chlorine rather than chlorine dioxide for a short period of time.

I happen to be one of the people with immunity to smallpox without inoculation. I got the inoculation once as a child at the doctor, but my arm never scarred up. My sister got it at the same time, and hers gave her the classic circular scar. We really don’t think they just didn’t do it correctly; this was when ever office did dozens a week. Maybe I got cowpox from the milk cow my grandfather kept. That provides an immunity to smallpox.

And remember it is hydrogen peroxide that kills what ails you. Your leader said so!

You can NOT get a reaction to a vaccine because you already have immunity, but you can also NOT get a reaction because you have a very weak immune system which does not build up immunity to the vaccine. I, along with several of my fellow CLL patients back when the COVID vaccine was new, had blood tests to determine if our bodies had produced any antibodies to it. I tested positive, but several people had two or three vaccinations and had no response at all.

This can be a concern because it means you have no protection against much of anything, although you probably have some immunity to things you were vaccinated against as a child. I got a mild case of shingles towards the end of my CLL treatment of pills. It was mild and lasted only three weeks because I had had shingles as a child and also had the original shingles vaccine in 2009. But just to be sure i would not get it again, I was on an antiviral for almost a year until I was able to get the newer shingles vaccines. (My shingles blisters were tiny and went away fast, though I still had some pain.)

Anyone scheduled for any kind of cancer treatment should catch up on all vaccinations before treatment.

A smallpox “shot” is NOT a vaccination; it is an innoculation. This is the reason smallpox inoculations leave a scar while vaccinations like MMRs do not. I have had my immune system tested a few times with checking titers to other antibodies. All good. No cancer (well, a couple of small skin cancers), no CLL.

Actually it really is a vaccine, it introduces a variant of the small pox virus which causes a skin infection at the site of the injection, it works when, like the covid vaccine, the bodies immune system develops antibodies which fight off both the weaker variant and the smallpox.
A vaccinated person has been inoculated, once the inoculation takes effect the person is immunized. Immunization may be for life or require, like the covid vaccine, boosters.

So who is my leader? Am I supposed to know this clairvoyantly? UTT said I had a leader of somesort, I'm simply asking for clarification.

The big difference today is that very few parents have seen kids with diseases like measles, mumps, polio, chicken pox, and whooping cough, so they don't think the diseases are very serious. They don't realize that measles can cause brain damage, mumps can cause sterility in boys, and children can die from chicken pox, etc. etc.

What we need is a (some?) people are stupid thread ... Nonpolitical. I will start one.

Note Anti-Vaxers well I believe all political parties have them.. However not an expert on that.

saw a post by an Anti-Vaxer: "How about if we expose ourselves to a very weak form of the virus so we can build up immunity"

yup good plan
