I brought my trailer to a local dealership to have my bearings repacked and other maintenance things. I also told them about my toilet not holding water in the bowl. This is a warranty issue as it's under a year old. They've had it for 3 weeks now supposedly waiting for approval, and parts, etc. Is this a normal time line? I figure it's nothing more than the rubber gasket, but geeez, really!!???

Toillet not holding water might be warranty
Might also be "Routine maintenance"

We have had threads on that here in the past how to clean the seal
Some toilets come with a tool for the job inclujded.

I will leave it to others to explain.

If you didn't buy it from your local dealership, it probably is. Many dealerships will serve their customers and travelers who are passing through before they do work for a local resident who bought elsewhere. In many cases, warranty work is paid by the manufacturer at a lower labor rate than he gets from cash customers.

Using a cylindrical toilet bowl brush, with the pedal down all the way,, push the brush halfway down the hole and rotate it several times.. This will clean any crud from the seal and doing this often will keep your toilet working as it should..>>>Dan ( Also when in storage for long periods,, pour about 1/2 cup of baby oil into the bowl to seal any black tank gasses out and keep the seal in good working order)

No, not normal. Most people posting about lengthy warranty claims report it takes months, not weeks. My take on it would be if you don't want to lose operating time for your equipment, or incur risk of damage while out of your control, fetch that thing and manage any service directly. The actual costs are secondary to lost opportunity, incidental damage, and unknown parts/service you end up getting, maybe.

I took our TT to several local repair shops to see if they could find and fix a leak in a window. We live in Delaware but purchased our RV in Michigan. One shop told me he wouldn’t do warranty work since the manufacturer would not pay the going rate for the work. The other shop did some of the work but wouldn’t do the other window because Winnebago would not pay him the going rate for labor. None of the RV sales places here would even give me an appointment. I did take it back to the dealer in Michigan and they worked on it but the windows still leaked. I made an appointment with the factory and took it there but again the windows still leaked. Winnebago ended up giving me a window and telling me they were done with me. My son and I installed the new window and the leaking stopped.
