What is the method for firing up the propane side of a 'Suburban' HWH? We have the valves open, and the HW switch on, but nothing happens when HW is called for...
How old is it? Put up a pic of the panel where the switch is. And a pic of the outside where the business is done as well.

Title says it is tripping a breaker, I assume the 120v breaker in your power center panel?

Inside do you have a switch and a warning light? Is there another switch for the water heater, possibly a simple home type light switch?

Do you have the red rocker switch on the outside of the water heater ON?

"valves open" does this mean the propane cylinders? Do other propane devices work, stove, fridge on propane, furnace, etc?

Are the water bypass valves in the proper position to run water thru and out of the water heater?
