Trying to use water pump in motorhome.  Have turned switch on and checked fuses, but doesn't seem to work. Inline filter is clean. Any ideas?

Found this attached to pump

With the water pump switch on, I would use a VOM to ensure that there is 12 volts at the water pump itself. If there is 12 volts at the water pump, but the pump isn't working, it would tell me that the pump itself is probably bad.

If power isn't reaching the water pump with the pump switch on, but there is power immediately after the fuse, it would tell me that there is a bad connection somewhere in the circuit.

In addition to what Kevin said, you can't be hooked up to water from shore power. If you are and the water is turned on, the pump will not start because the system is pressurized.

That, of course, depends on the system. On all three of my coaches I've been able to run the water pump while hooked to "city" water.

Semantics, I think?    It's always possible to have the pump turned on, but it may or may not cycle when city water pressure is present.  If the city inlet pressure is high enough, the pump won't run whether its turned on or not. However, in most cases the pump will cycle at least occasionally because opening a faucet usually lowers the pressure enough to activate the pump.

you probably have two switches, one in bathroom and one in galley. try turning both on at the same time . if that doesn't work pull the switch plates and see if you are getting 12 volts to the switches. i had a switch go bad and it affected both switches.

Like Gary said, then the incomming shore power water was very low. Probably less than 40 PSI.
