After having the Passport TT for about 1 1/2 years we finally came to the conclusion that it wasn't meeting our needs as we thought they were when we down sized from a Motorhome. After working out some bugs and doing several modifications to suit our lifestyle:facepalm: we realized that we just needed more room to entertain family and friends.

So quite by accident, we stumbled across a 33' 5th wheel that was a new left over 2023 on a dealer lot. We made the trek to look at it, and fell in love with the features. And thanks to the economy and stupid high interest rates, the dealer had marked the rig down about 50% to move it before the end of the year.

They offered me a fair price for my Passport, which together with the price reduction came out to us paying less for the 5th wheel than we did for the Passport when we bought it.

The new rig is a Starcraft 264GSL with 3 slides, 400 watts of solar, and a outdoor kitchen (our first one of those). So life moves pretty quick these days, especially at this age, so sometimes you just have to recognize an opportunity when it comes by.

Congratulations (again!) Marty.

Congratulations, looks nice! and now you'll have new projects :)
I know right! Now comes all the tweaks to make the rig personalized and fit our needs. I really do enjoy that part. That and the organization of finding just the right place for everything all over again.

Congratulations to you both! Fanmb news and more room for the doggy!!

Where are you planning on camping?

Well 3 months into the new rig and I am still doing a ton of stuff to modify/upgrade it to meet our needs. This has been a very well built unit so far as the build quality goes. But just like every RV, there is no doubt that they are all built one at a time by humans, and there are bound to be adjustments and fixes needed. Like many rigs, most of the bigger corrections have been replacement of some of the electronic systems that came with the unit, like the converter (not working to charge lithium batteries) and the wall mounted android tablet that runs many of the electronic features on the rig like lights slides and jacks. The tablet needed to be replaced as the battery in the original one had failed and wouldn't accept commands. Both of those issues were backed by warranty, and they sent them to me free.

I still prefer doing 99% of my own repairs rather than taking it to a dealer lot to sit for weeks or months waiting for parts. But we love the space and amenities and plan for some longer trips this year.
