What are the awning hold downs when driving?

I wonder if clamping the rod that unrolls it will make it impossible to unroll because the mechanism is unable to spin.

I exchanged emails with Keith and Wilson from awninglock.com. After showing me some of their customers orientations of the lock models they have, it seems possible with some slight modifications to install one of their locks.
One thing that came up is that this awning is equipped with a worm gear to raise and lower the awning.
Keith’s assessment was that he finds it extremely unlikely that a worm gear would back itself out and it would not unfurl.
I’m still going to take extra precautions with it by installing a lock or clamp on the roller alongside clamping the rod to the arm to prevent spinning.
