Closest thing we've done is Truck camp in the bed of an F250 long bed pickup. And that was only for 2+ weeks.

I know there are other members who have similar setups. Hopefully they will respond if they see your post. One in particular is the GreenTardis. Do a search of the Forum and you'll see what they have.

Hi Vanbrat,

Curious if your van has a black tank, water tank, fridge, furnace and other items that most RV's have? Some campgrounds might restrict you camping if you don't have those items. If you boondock then your fine. You also have to camp in places that have showers and bathrooms.

I've certainly lived in my minivan on some trips so it can be done.
My van has a bucket for nighttime and no black tank. I carry water in 1-2 jerry carriers and my fridge is small and runs off of a Jackery. Yes, we need a shower once in a while. Otherwise, it's a through sponge bath. We have a lot of solar powered stuff. We have electric blankets and a small electric heater. Which means sometimes we have to choose between being warm or keeping food frozen. We have a tiny microwave that again works off the Jackery and a really nice bed and space left is for the big dumb love of a dog that is the best traveling dog we have ever had. We have had a few spots say no to us because we don't have our own "toilet" though we do have the bucket set up that works fine for us I understand the reasoning in that.

Just thought I would add what we found on the last trip out. There were a couple of kids playing with RC cars. It looked like so much fun we went and got a couple just for the **** of it. And now I am totally sold on them.

The usual stuff plus 2 or 3 guitars and my other music gear. Ebooks. The two Goldens shown to the left, with their stuff of course. And money. The more the better.

I had a friend who makes wonderful art with dried pressed flowers. She has asked if ever I use a flower press. I have but the one I have at home Is HUGE so now I have a small one just for the van. I won't be picking endangered or rare things just stuff not found around home. I wish I had a photo of some of her work but....

One of my hosts last year gave me a relatively cheap RC Jeep Cherokee. Full suspension, 4wd, and full lighting. I was skeptical at first but found myself playing with it more than I would have thought.

Funny story from last season. Had a camper whose 10-year-old kid had one of those high dollar rock crawler RCs that go about 100 miles an hour. His dad and I were watching him play with it on the campground road when a F/S LEO came through the campground and actually red-lighted the kid. Basically, just told him to keep an eye on traffic as he was playing. The kid's dad and I both got a big kick out of the LEO "stopping" an RC car and the kid's reaction. One of those "priceless" moments.
