I grew up with a very southern grandma, like raised in Alabama southern. We had fried chicken twice a week (she made fabulous fried chicken!), greens (can’t stand the slimy things), hominy (another thing I avoid like the plague), and grits. I still prefer potatoes and rice to grits, but I will eat them in the south. And I never get sweet tea north of the Mason-Dixon Line. Too many of the northern folks seem to think sweet team is unsweet tea with a bunch of sugar added - blasphemy!
But as for tonight, it is baked chicken thighs and Yukon potatoes, seasoned with olive oil, parley, and rosemary. I might add some Parmesan if I get in the mood. I don’t cook southern, even though I grew up on it.
