It parallels the coach batteries and the engine battery. If you run the engine battery down and it won't start the engine then pushing that switch with give you the coach batteries in parallel to help start the engine.
As Tom said, it bridges the two sets of batteries so you can start the coach if the chassis battery is dead. It is a momentary switch which must be held closed until the coach starts. It will release once you take your finger off of it.
