what is it?

'86 gulfstream sunstream 33". on the steering colum support ive got a black box. it is about 4"x3"x1". it has 2 red lights that do not work, 1 says power, 1 says engage. there is 16 small guage wires connected to box at the rear. in front there is a small white plastic dial,above it there is a small plastic dial with numbers, i could read what looked like 250 and 507, i think there is more but didnt want to turn it. with this info and your knowledge, does anybody have a guess as to what it is? if you need anymore info, please ask i will try to respond with it. thanks alot for any help!

That sounds like the cruise control I had on our prior 1985 Pace Arrow, except I don't recall seeing those numbers.

box looks to be aftermarket, and the cruse switch looks to be aftermarket as well. cruise doent work.might be right on. thanks for your help.

My cruise kept blowing fuses and it turned out to be a wire between the box and the column that was shorting to ground.
