For me, it would have to be the Ultra Van. Aluminum skinned and framed full monocoque construction like an airplane fuselage with fiberglass end caps resulted in a 22 ft. Class A weighing about 3000 lbs. A Corvair 140 hp engine and transmission under the rear bed gave it 15 MPG back in the 1960s. The fresh and waste water holding tanks were integrated into the floor structure adding rigidity. About 370 were produced between 1960 and 1969 and around 200 are still on the road today,

Remember the Ford 460 powered pusher from FMC?

Or the front wheel drive motorhome from GM?

Well, if you like nostalgia, here's a photo of my parents 1963 Phoenix travel trailer and their 1963 Pontiac station wagon. For what it's worth, I'm the kid squatting. From left to right, my younger sister, me, my dad, my older sister. My mother took the photo. We were along the Gulf, somewhere in Texas. The year was 1964.

This was the same trip. We were at Johnson City, Texas. We also stopped at the LBJ (President Johnson's) ranch on that trip too.
