In today’s episode of “what is this thing?” I’ve got an interesting one for you.

I bought our 2016 Keystone Sprinter fifth wheel last year, generally in good shape but has needed a variety of updates and small repairs after not being used much by the prior owner. I’ve found a variety of mystery items left behind in the storage compartments, and have identified everything except these small-ish white plastic panels. (See attached images… folded camping chair for size reference.)

They can “nest” and slide together, one has an oval cutout, there are holes that line up to insert a pin and lock them in places when nested. But what the heck are these things for? 🤔

Not really interlocking… the pieces will slide right through one another if you let them. But those small holes on the side, they can be lined up and a small plastic pin (which fell out in the yard and I lost 🤪) could be pushed in and would theoretically hold the pieces together in place.

What kind of compartment? Everything else I found in there eventually had a home in the RV, so that’s why this one is confusing me.

Look at that! Mystery solved by Detective Joezeppy with strong supporting suggestions from others above.

Why it was in my RV underbelly, who knows. The roof AC seems to work fine. 🤷‍♂️

Interestingly, Google lens can't figure out exact proportions in these images so it comes up with multiple possibilities. However its first suggestion would seem to be pretty accurate.

Really makes it hard to have fun with any such "what is this thing" challenge!

I used a similar portable unit, along with the two overhead a/c’s in my 5’er. Summertime, Mesquite, NV. With outside temperatures above 100 degrees it took all three to keep the inside about 80. I still have two portable units in storage. Free to a good home.

Well shoot, I’ve already got the window adapter! 😉
