Last fall, there were a couple of threads about sewer hose leaks, one of which was the Rhinoflex. We, too, have had continuing problems with the new version of this hose. It will drip from the end fittings, mostly the attachment to the RV outlet. This usually happens one or two usages after I have gone through the tightening process: loosen the black lock ring, tighten the end fitting on the hose, then tighten the lock ring. I am getting tired of this process. (We had the earlier version of the Rhino for years, which only leaked when punctured.) I'd be very glad for your suggestions.

So -- what is your favorite replacement sewer hose, and why?

We buy the "heavy duty" Camco from Wal-Mart. They are open 24/7 in case we spring a leak. We have both the red fittings and the grey fittings. I don't see much difference between the two. We keep a tube of EU6000 to patch cracks in the hose until we can get to the store to replace. Our current hose was bought in Nov 2010. No leaks or cracks. We stay parked and do not move. We use a residential PVC rain gutter to support the drain hose. We have a trip coming up in Sept (my 1 week vacation) and we will most likely take the opportunity to replace the hose. Eventually, I hope to add a macerator to the sewer drain and get rid of the 3" hose completely. It takes up too much space.

Ours is still the Rhino.  We've used the current one for over a year and no leaks.  The old one didn't leak either except where a weed cutter had sliced the hose.  I still have the ends from it for making up an extension hose when needed.

Been using the EZ Coupler, and all the red screw together fittings, for about twenty years.  Never a problem and they are much cheaper than some of the hoses that claim to be leakfree and apparently may not be.  The EZ Coupler is easy to use for us and has been trouble free.

Rhino for 2 years.  When you buy a new rhino out of the box you will notice that the ends and connections have a small amount of petroleum jelly.  This has to be replaced from time to time. My 2 cents worth.

Used Rhino for a long time - until I discovered that rats and mice love them.

Now have a macerator pump with a 1 inch hose made specifically for that purpose. Have two lengths so can go as far as 30' horizontal and 15' vertical.

If you didn't have the 15' vertical, how far do you think the pump would push the waste?  I've thought about using something like that but have a very long distance to my clean out.

Yep, EZ Coupler for us too, five years and counting.

Could not remember the name until I saw it in COMer's post - we also use the EZ Coupler hoses. I keep 2 with me - a 15' and a 10'. I just tossed them last Fall after about 5 years of use (had some pinholes) but I will definitely buy the same ones again.

Food for thought - I also use a clear coupler at the TT end, an expandable hose support and a 90 degree elbow at the ground attachment point. Overall, this combination has worked well on multiple terrains.

I use Camco's "Revolution" hoses and elbow most of the time. I've haven't had any problem with them in about three years. It's usually available at Walmart if I should need replacements. For longer runs than the two 10' Revolution hoses, I have additional older , but still not leaking, hose that I've equipped with matching fittings to give me a total reach of 40'. So far, I've only needed it all just once, to reach a four site shared hookup at a rally.

I just bought and used for the first time, the Valterra Dominator hose. I don't have anything to compare it to - but I will say that I was impressed with it's build quality. The connections seem tight and strong. I chose it mainly because I could buy caps to completely seal it off when it is not being used - as opposed to the Rhino which has the elbow (more permanently) mounted. This also allows me to join several hoses together, if the need arises.

Thanks to all-- keep 'em coming!

Mylo -- where did you buy the "Dominator"? It has several good reviews on Amazon (but shipping might be expensive). Amazon has a 15' kit for about $41.

I have used EZ coupler for my "on the road sewer hose" for 4 years (still on the original). For the EZ coupler I have 3 ten foot sections so I can reach any stupidly place sewer outlet.

I tried Rhino for my home base this year, but after fighting constant leaks I gave up after one season. I decided to replace it with a heavy duty grey hose without fittings so I could run it through a 4" sewer pipe, then I added the fittings. The reason for the sewer pipe is to elevate the hose and to protect it from the sun. Makes a nice neat installation for base camp.

I bought it from Amazon. I think it qualified for free saver shipping - which can be anywhere from 5-15 days, if you are not in a rush. IIRC it was about $45 - so $41 is even better (assuming you can get the free shipping).

Terry is still using the Dupree sewer hose he bought over 14 years ago.  Guess it's a good one to last so long with 6 years of full timing and using the rig at least 8 months a year the last 8 years.

Drainmaster. One end stays connected to the motorhome and the other end has a shut off valve so the hose is not open and and not leaking. ;D
