What's the best lube for a slideout?

My fifth wheel has a chain and sprocket system. I went to camp world yesterday to buy some lube. When I asked what kind of lube I needed they didn't know but said try silicon. Any ideas?

You might try stopping at your local motorcycle shop.? They carry several different brands of chain lubricants.

I believe your best choice for a lubricant for the chain and sprocket system is a so called  dry  lubricant sold for bicycle use.  You don't want to use a lubricant that will cause dust and dirt and sand to stick to the chain and since there is no speed involved, a bicycle shop selling off road bikes would be the place.

The trailer lives near the beach in Mexico so I need a dry lubricant.
