If we go anywhere this summer it will be in the Eastern Sierras. Been there, done that more times than I can remember and we'll never get tired of it. It's only been a few weeks since we ended our 10 week 4,000 mile trip to S.W. Texas so not in any rush. Still it doesn't take long before the urge returns. Depending on the timing, we may just continue into Oregon and return via the Coast. We've done that multiple times as well and the entire West Coast is an area that we will never tire of visiting.

Hard to answer since there is so much to like. Haven't done much before Lone Pine but from there to the Nevada border, two of our favorite camp grounds are Crowley Lake BLM and Chris Flats, which I believe is a Forest Service Campground.

Haven't camped at Convict Lake but have been there several times. Great location but not sure we'd have much luck finding a spot large enough for our Pace.

I stayed at the French Campground a few miles south of there, next to Tom's Place, CA, but you would have the same problem there as the slots are not that long. I was there in my 24' Y2K RV and that was about all most of the spaces could handle.

Crowley Lake BLM and Chris Flats,

I have not yet been to either of those, I will have to check them out one of these days. Not far from here, but I keep my RVs at my Auburn, CA house where I have a lot more room and do not need to winterize, unlike here in Reno.
