Where Are You Headed in 2026? Share Your RV Travel Itineraries

Our plans have changed, instead of going back to Washington and Oregon we are headed to Little Rock. My inlaws have some health issues and need some work done around the house. They have a 50amp plug, water, sewer and a lot of projects. Lol

We will leave our volunteer position in Waddell, AZ around March 15th and go to Little Rock for April, May and into June.
From there Michigan, looking for some volunteer opportunities if not we will just travel around.

It's been few years since we have been through Indiana so we will visit several friends on the way up, most of them have rv hookups.
We will return to Little Rock for October and November.

We are really looking forward to the new plans, it will be fun to visit family and friends.

We are hoping for a trip from Seattle to Grand Canyon. on the Eastern side of the mountains. down 95 back 395. I have been down I-5 more than I have ever wanted and this time we will be doing the Eastern route.

Well, I made all sorts of plans last year. Life seemed to be making plans, but failing to share them with me.
The only thing I have on my calendar for this year is to take my Brother's ashes down to SE Florida and scatter them out past the 3-mile limit on his birthday. After that, we'll see where the winds take us.

to the Keys

We did that from WNY three years ago, left around Feb. 15, snowstorm from WNY to past Erie, PA, finally stopping halfway to Pittsburgh along I-79.

The Keys are fantastic. We really enjoyed 4 days in Key Largo and another 4 days in Key West at Boyd's Campground. Hopefully, you have bikes, or E-bikes, with you to tool around Key West. There isn't a lot of parking available, and if you find it, it's expensive. And, don't be tempted to rent one of the fancied up golf carts, of Gem Cars, you'll see all around town, there's still nowhere to park them.

If you notice the Artist's House B&B on Eaton Street, turret building in light lavender and white, and pretty well known, my brother used to own it.

Our list of planned trips include, Ocean City, NJ, Mystic seaport, CT, 1000 islands, NY and Burlington Vermont so far. But not all in one trip.
Watkins Glenn and sites along the finger lakes are also on our wish list and Bar Harbor Maine as well, but that will be a long shot.

There will be other spur of the moment outings as well.
We'll take the trips based on availability, and our mood at the time.

Two, two week trips planned and reservations made. One in the spring and one in the fall. While the kids are still in school!!

We get the RV out of storage in Phoenix area less than a week from now. Off to Q to visit friends in California for 5 days or so, then assess the sanity of heading east.
I-10 all the way to Pensacola by mid February God willing and the creeks don't rise.
Back to Texas to see family, up to Missouri to see family, then figure out where we're going to leave the RV and fly home, around mid-April.
Supposedly AK air is adding a non-stop Spokane-to-Anchorage. We could try for the Tetons or Yellowstone on the way.

Definitely on our bucket list to camp there. We did spend some time on Islamorada once (our oldest daughter lived in Ft. Lauderdale for a couple of years so we took a day trip).

Off to White Sands and Silver Springs (NM) soon before wandering across AZ (Kartchner Caverns, Q, BioSphere, Apache Trail) maybe visit family in NV for a few days before wandering back to northern NM. Maybe catch a a desert bloom in CA around this time? Hopefully gone for 4-6 weeks.
Making plans for Great Sand Dunes (CO) in May to hopefully catch Mendano Creek's spring run.
Then off to visit family in the Midwest in Jun/Jul. Who knows what path I'll take to get there and back? Right now Route 66 sounds like a kick since it's the 100th anniversary of the Mother Road this year! When's the last time you saw the Blue Whale of Catoosa? Or the Gemini Giant? Plenty of nonsense to keep entertained on that route - probably plenty of people and cars, too! I'm more of a friendly introvert and not a natural seeker of crowds. In my head I want to do this but I'm really unsure about the follow through! LOL - say a prayer for me!

Our travel plans are pretty much cut-and-dried now.

We are currently in Louisiana where I am volunteering as a campground host at a state historic site.

In 2026 we are here January and February.

In March, we return home to Indiana with camper in-tow.

April we return to the same location in Louisiana and remain until the end of June.

July, August, September we are home again in Indiana. Except we are planning a trip to Sioux City, Iowa in August and then returning to Indiana.

October, November, and December, we are back in Louisiana and will stay until the end of February 2027.

My son lives in our house at home with his son and is taking care of everything there. A few years ago we added him to the deed so if something happens to us, the house is his automatically.

Campground hosting is a fantast experience, especially when you get to get a free full hook-up campsite at a historical park and there is no "campground" and no people to deal with. After 5:00 pm when the park closes ... it's total isolation! The entire park is my playground!

We had planned on going to western Canada this summer, but I am worried about gettin stuck in another country if certain political things being threatened happen. We are now looking at other alternatives, but haven’t completely given up on Canada yet.

Come on up to Alberta, we love people from the U.S. as we are more like our southern neighbors than we are like the people from the other provinces in Canada. Hopefully we will be the Country of Alberta soon! We hope to be heading south this summer to visit family in Kentucky and we also love the Gulf coast. Hoping to get my 2400 watts of solar on our motorhome before we leave.

On Feb 10, 2026, I head from Birmingham, Alabama to Anaheim, California with a stop in Las Vegas, NV. A total of 42 days. I'll be staying in several KOA's and other campgrounds along route 66. I'd love to visit Cadillac ranch, but not sure if there's enough room to stop while in a class c rv and towing a car.

Come on up to Alberta, we love people from the U.S. as we are more like our southern neighbors than we are like the people from the other provinces in Canada. Hopefully we will be the Country of Alberta soon! We hope to be heading south this summer to visit family in Kentucky and we also love the Gulf coast. Hoping to get my 2400 watts of solar on our motorhome before we leave.

I've gotta say that during a number of business trips to Calgary, the locals seemed to see things in the same way that I, being from the northeast USA, did.. We Loved their company and sense of humor as well as their work ethic. We later vacationed on Vancouver Island for a week and fell in love with the area and local culture. I vote to annex BC to the USA.

Leaving from Chicago western suburbs in late April to Texas, California, Colorado and back home (6 weeks). Then in late July we will head for Maine (5 weeks). We don't do the mileage we use to when we were Full-timers (17 years).
