Does anyone have any suggestions of a nice campground either in the Key Largo area or Marathon area and anywhere in between? Would like a campground with a beach. We are going down the later part of January for a couple of weeks. Ladybug

Start calling all of them and make reservatons now. Your chances of finding an opening anywhere in the Keys in January are slim. And expect to pay extremely high prices - $75/night is not uncommon.

Florida has some decent state parks in the Keys, though the sites are a bit cramped (the Keys are mostly tiny islets and there simply isn't much land).

I actually found a spot at a Florida State Park in the Keys. Very reasonable priced too. $30.00 a night plus tax.

Great - you were lucky!  That's the big benefit of state parks - they can maintain prices at levels us common folks can afford even if it is not economically viable and they usually limit the length of stay so that sites become available for new visitors.

Enjoy your stay.

Unquestionably the best beach in the Keys and a great campground... Bahia Honda State Park. Bahia Honda Fills up fast so you need to make raservations ASAP.

If you can't get in there, try Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge and Campground on Big Pine Key. Just a very short distance from Bahia Honda. Run by a wonderful family. Been there several times and love it. Families have been going there for years, generation after generation.
