Lithium batteries self discharge rate is typically 0.5% to 2.5%
you are quoting rates more suited to FLA..

All of the batteries sold as drop-in replacements have a built-in BMS. They have to, since they're sealed and have no access to the individual cells.

I would be very surprised to see a commercial drop in replacement lithium WITHOUT a BMS system and other protection installed, average joe has no knowledge and could care less about battery chemistry.
it would be very foolish to sell such a system without protection(s).

that 30 AH battery you can use like 29 of 'em safely. about the same as a Group 29 battery in fact a touch more.

Did you mean a Group 24? Cause a Group 29 can easily produce 60+ AH without any stress at all.

NO Group 29 MARINE/deep cycle just over 100 AH total about 20-25 usable maximum before rapid ageing sets in.. NOT a DEEP cycle which can hit 50 Hard to find a G-29 DEEP CYCLE. so most are MARINE/deep cycle.
