You guys must be getting tired of receiving these same types of questions over and over again. I have been trying to fully understand the various formulas and answers you have provided about tow vehicle requirements but I still do not fully uinerstand them and I need some help from you tow vehicle gurus. I think I have no problem but I really want to be sure before I purchase my new 5er and new tow vehicle. Can you tell me if this configuration is OK for east coast pulling.
Tow vehicle:
2006 Ford F-350, PSD diesel 6.0L w/5 speed automatic tranny, tow boss package 4.30 axle, CC, 4X4
According to Ford for this truck:
GCWR is 26,000
Max fifth wheel weight is 18,100
Rear GAWR is 9,000
GVWR(F350) is 13,000
GVW is 7,647
Fifth wheeler:
Dry weight is 11,549
Hitch weight is 1,850
Axle dry weight is 9,699
GCWR is 15,500
So, am I okay here or do I need to reconsider before I make my purchase? How must weight can I safely add to the trailer with "stuff" that I want to take on our trips?
Thank you in advance for helping yet another newbie firgure this stuff out.
