We took our 1st month long RV trip about 10 years ago.  We were heading to Yellowstone from PA and didn't even know The Badlands was a thing.  Until we saw the sign on the side of the highway.  It wasn't on our itinerary.  But OH man was it amazing.  It is now may favorite place on the planet.  Can't explain why, just is.  This fall will be our 3rd time there and we're more prepared for the goings on there and will be ready for extended hiking and exploring.  We saw beautiful things on our RV trips from Yellowstone, to Tetons, Zion, Arches, Bryce, Grand Canyon, Lake Powel etc.  But Badlands holds a special place in my heart.  Maybe because I totally wasn't expecting it and it's beauty hit me like a ton of donuts!  ;)

Do you have a place that is THE ONE?

Have you been to Makoshika State Park Near Glendive MT.  I have found it to be a great part of the badlands

No. Tell me more.

I'll let you know in April, by then I'll have been to every state except Alaska. But I'm following this to make sure I hit them all lol

The badlands are a fascinating place, I have seen them in Alberta. The one place that absolutely wowed me was the Arizona desert, I want to go back and explore it.

The Tetons.

I was in my 20's and had been Working a job near Lake Tahoe. Left there and started hitching east to go home to Florida. Got a ride out of Salt Lake with an old guy that was going to Pinedale, Wyoming. He offered to pay me to drive him there, as he was feeling his age, and couldn't drive far at a time.
I started driving, and he regaled me with tales of living in the Wind River and Teton areas.
By the time we got to Pinedale, I decided to head North. Caught a ride with another drifter who was heading to Yellowstone for a job.
We came up to Jackson late that afternoon, and he suggested camping up in one of the campgrounds in the park.
As we topped the ridge north of town, The Tetons came in to view. There was a layer of clouds just above the peaks, and gaps let the sun light them up in the most fantastic way. It was glorious. To this day, I can recall that view in my mind.

Tetons and Yosemite for sure, but The Grand Canyon in winter in snow on a full moon would be my tops.

It can't be copied because the link doesn't work.

I think the Grand Canyon should be on everyone's Bucket List, but I would also add Monument Valley. Like the Grand Canyon, on a clear, blue sky day, it is spectacular.
