Yes. We saw her live with friends and forumites in Sacramento a few years ago. What a bundle of energy, and a wonderful musician (she played numerous instruments between singing her great songs).

Tony thanks so much for pointing to the videos of Johnny Carson. The DP session was great as were many other bits at that site. His humor is truly missed.
Can you believe how young Dolly Parton looked in that video ???

Truly it is said that one need not be old to be a dirty old man  --  but it does help.
 
According to Snopes, that conversation never happened and Johnny denied it happening.

A very good question:  Many of the people in this forum.. I've sat at table with them.

Not virtual table, but physical table  (pot luck dinner) and to be honest.  The only way you can be 100% sure is an eye to eye meeting.. Though the word of someone you trust goes a long way in that direction.. You will note I am not saying who is using their real name and who is not.

In addition in many cases there is an easy way for me to check.. But I will add those cases, the folks have an easy way to check on me (Same way) as well... That said.. I've never taken that route with a forum member.
 
How do you know someone you meet in "Real Life" is who they claim to be? Scam artists and Con men abound.

The point is that MOST people participating in a forum like this and using their "real name" would use their real names and not bother setting up a phony identity that could be "verified".
 
I thought the ranking was different....old coot is like a master Sargent and senior coot is like a Sargent major......could be wrong....curmudgeon is like a Sargent with a specialist MOS, like you said a sub-cat
