I'm currently in Ajo and there's no rumblings in town about any trouble with immigrants. There are rumblings about people who can't get to work, business difficulty etc.
So glad to hear. DH and I really like that area and hopefully we'll get back there some day.

John where are you staying? If you're in Ajo you should check out the Elks Lodge. I don't think you have to be a member.

I'm at Gunsight Wash a BLM campsite which is two miles south of Why. I've been here for two weeks and have had no problems. It's very peaceful here especially since they closed the Lukeville border crossing.

If so, they are the exception. Every Elks lodge I've been to only offers camping to Elks. Has to do with insurance and zoning, providing a service to members vs. operating a campground open to the general public.

Glad to hear. I want to check that place out for the first time. I will probably be there in January some time. I have been to OPCNM many times, but I never checked out Gunsight Wash.

I am not quite sure what you intended to show with that map. The red dots are where people have died. All it really shows is how very dangerous is the route these people take.

Between having Walmart and Amazon shipped to here in a day or two and Olsens IGA/Ace Hardware across the street, there's no reason to go to Walmart. I'm definitely enjoying that.

Olsens IGA/Ace Hardware across the street,
I was surprised how large Olsen's Marketplace is. IMO, they had a better selection than most Wal*Marts. They even had the AA and AAA lith batteries I was looking for that I couldn't fine at any Wal*Mart during that trip.

That was a while back, but here is my electric motorcycle charging in their parking lot, still shown as the last photo taken for a check-in on April 26, 2023. I rode it there from OPCNM. Ajo has several places to charge up. But all AC, ~7KW,. But no DC fast charging--Yet.

Remote as in, the address is_ 14th and Plum. fourteen miles plum out in the country. I see they do have a WalMart now. When we were there the only shopping was in the plaza
I'm fairly certain there is no Walmart in Why or Ajo, or anywhere within 50 miles.

There is no Walmart in Why or Ajo. The closest is in Buckeye.

Olsens and NAPA have a very surprising amount of RV supplies and parts.
