Trip report MO to CA and back again

Trust me compared to my 9-5 that was a vacation... LOL! I am 32 and my Wife is 29 we are very happy to able to have an RV and be able to take the time we have to look around out of the back yard a bit.  We are both looking forward to the days when we will hopefully be able to take all the time...

Trip report MO to CA and back again

The next trip we take will for sure be slow and easy.  This trip was actually to a destination vs ust the trip being the vacation.  We had told me mother that we werent both coming out and that I was flying out alone on the 21st, so we had a deadline to try to be at her house in the driveway on...

Got home last week from a trip to California through Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma and back to Kansas and then into Mssouri.  Total mileage was at around 5000 miles in nine days of driving.  Saw a large portion of the Southwest US...

    swapping duals to singles

I see them everyday, literally several times on my commutes.  I drive from outside of KCMO to inside KCMO near some of the primary shipping points and hubs in this area, front street in KCMO.  That is what got me thinking, a year ago I didnt see that many but over the course of the past 6 months...

    swapping duals to singles

So while driving downt he road I am seeing a lot more tractor trailers with the truck and trailer dualies traded out for a single huge tire on a single wheel.  Seems if the big rigs can and are doing it there must be a reason, and perhaps a reason to try it on a Class A.  Am I getting too bored...

How do I make faded decals look better?

bad news on that.  Vinyl decals have a limited outdoor life expectancy, the lower end stuff is expected to last for less than 2 years, mid grade can be expected to last 3 years and premium for 7-10+.  Dont know a whole lot about what they put on rV's, except our pace has 3m on it according to my...

Someone tell me I am not crazy

very true.  The price I was quoted however was for the PART and freight to get it there would be extra, not to mention labor, figure 3-4 hours @75 per and I am doing this job in the driveway...  That is enough money to buy a bigger floor jack, taller jackstands, etc etc etc

looking at buying first Class A, actually first RV...

Seller called me back and accepted my offer at 9K. Also spoke to a buddy that has wrenched on alot of RV's and he thinks the column shake is probably a loose bolt or bad bearing on the steering column.  Looks like we are happening. Thanks for the advice and pointers this forum has been, and no...

looking at buying first Class A, actually first RV...

You guys have good points, and I appreciate the input.  Problem is our budget is pretty well locked in, as we dont want large payments.  With that in mind and after looking at quite a few online and a couple in person this unit appears to the best we have seen.  I am fully aware it is probably...

looking at buying first Class A, actually first RV...

OK.  Yeah I shouldnt post on the internet so close to bed time...  The steering stabilizer is one high dollar setup...  The good part is that I am DIY Jeep guy so suspension is no biggie.  I think the current price is pretty good, they are asking 10K, once I hear back from the bank and can go...
