    Battery Charging Question

Thanks Don. My trailer has more than enough room, unfortunately it's my wallet that lacks space. Canyon

    Battery Charging Question

Guess I should mention that I have the Rich Solar 40A charge controller, with Bluetooth and battery temp sensor, and it does give me quite a bit of info on battery status, charge rate, PV panel output and so forth. Thanks again for all the great info. Canyon

    Battery Charging Question

Thanks for the help guys, really good info. I am going to finish this season with the lead acid batteries and look during the off season for the Lifepo4 battery. Right now I am leaning toward the Ampere Time 200ah unit for ~$700. Just for clarity, I am only using the batteries for 12v systems...

Wanting to add solar to my RV, which 400 watt kit?

That is exactly what I did. Bought the Trina 415W residential panel, had to mount it across the roof instead of lengthwise, a Rich Solar 40A charge controller and wires plus fuses. Total out the door ~$600. Charge controller came with Bluetooth and battery temp sensor. One of the big advantages...

    Battery Charging Question

I recently installed 415W of solar and a 40A Rich Solar charge controller on my trailer. I am currently using two 12v lead acid batteries in parallel and considering going to a Lifepo4 200ah battery. I do not plan to install an inverter in the foreseeable future. Do I have enough solar for this...

What type of Lock and cable do most people use to lock up their Generators?

Not a Harbor Freight tool fan but they sell some excellent cables that are 7' long and are perfect. I use cables because bolt cutters don't work well on them. Also use the circular combo locks as they are hard for bolt cutters to get a bite. Chains are easy for bolt cutters. RichH

    California route 1

Canadians probably like Mexico better than the US for vacations for the reasons I like Mexico better as well. Cheaper prices, excellent food and great climate. Heading to Cozumel, happily flying, for 15 days of scuba diving on Nov 7. Got all inclusive for two for $94/day. Booked at the height of...

    New RV Accident on Lot

That trailer, at least in my eyes, is no longer new. It has been damaged and would require a fair amount of discount for me to follow through with the purchase, providing the damage was not structural. If the structure was involved it would be a deal breaker for me. Please let us know how this...

    No AC power

So I just hooked the trailer up to my home plug and everything is now working! The only thing I haven't checked so far is the Camco 30A to 20A adapter. Why I didn't do that in the first place makes no sense. I will certainly do that this afternoon. I hate it when I over complicate an issue.

    No AC power

I did check all of the breakers, inside and out. None were tripped. Not sure of the actual WFCO model. The trailer is 30A and I was plugged into a 20A pedestal with an adapter. My batteries were not charging according to my meter. When I left the park my batteries showed 11.9v when they normally...

    No AC power

Had to leave Parker AZ early as we had lost all of the 120V in the trailer as well as the battery wasn't charging. We had a slight smell of electronics burning before this happened. We were hooked up to a 20 amp shore pedestal that worked fine when I tested it with my plug in tester. I suspect...

Using LED interior lights in an older RV

The retention pins on the sides of the base will not allow one to just reverse the bulb. Those pins also set orientation of the contacts. John From Detroit and Tom_M are absolutely correct. Let us know how you fared. RichH
