    Roof help

My roof looks old. It doesn't leak. But I think I need to upgrade it? What should I do? I'll try and attach images.

How does a fridge work while I'm off-the-grid?

OK, I turned on the propane for the first time today. (I've been afraid I'd blow myself up:). So I turned it on, and lit the stove top to get the air out of the line (as someone suggested).  The stove worked great. But then the fridge wouldn't ever start. It tried. It kept clicking to try and...

    Generator not working

OK! I feel like a rookie. I fixed the problem. The generator decided not to work anymore and it sounded like it wasn't getting enough juice or something. Even when I started the RV engine, it didn't start up. So it dawned on me!!  My RV was unlevel when I checked the oil the last time. So it...

    Generator not working

Yes, there's a 4 light indicator. It's been at 2 for awhile. I think I probably need a good generator mechanic to come look at my generator I think. I found the circuit breakers and nothing was off. So I tried starting the generator again and now it won't turn on. It turns over a little. Too...

How does a fridge work while I'm off-the-grid?

No, I haven't got the hot water running yet. I take showers at work right now and wanted to focus on getting everything running first. But I need to learn eventually:)

    Generator not working

Yes, I was talking about the house batteries at half charge. Ok, i will make sure I charge the house batteries to full every time and then try not to let them sit too long below half charge. Another question:  So I had my generator on today for 2 hours. I'm just learning how much I should plug...

How does a fridge work while I'm off-the-grid?

Okay!  The refrigerator is a Norcold. I took a picture of the fridge and the details on the inside. But maybe everyone's familiar with this one. My hope is to start using the fridge soon. My RV is now pretty level after driving my right 2 tires up on blocks, so I just need to turn the propane...

    Generator not working

My house batteries are half full right now and that's where they've been for awhile. Should I always have them either full or above half most of the time? I"ll ask a friend to show me how to check and add water to the batteries to make sure.

    Generator not working

Ok thanks. All 3 of my batteries are new as of the last couple months. So they should be fine. The generator is working now. I think it was the low charge in the house battery. I also feel like it needs to be lubricated some how...not sure what that will mean, but I bet it hasn't been used...

How does a fridge work while I'm off-the-grid?

Super helpful everyone. Okay, my goal this week is the get levelers under my tires so then I can start using the fridge. (I'm glad I know that about making sure the fridge is level before using). And I'm so happy I can start using the fridge now!!! And not worry about running the propane tank...

    Generator not working

Ok, let me make sure I understand. The generator needs the house batteries to start? I thought the generator also charges the house batteries. (I'm slowly learning:) So if i start the engine, to get the generator to start. Then I let the generator charge the house batteries, I should be ok...

How does a fridge work while I'm off-the-grid?

So I've been living in my Rv for a few weeks now and haven't really used my fridge cause I don't know a lot about it. I don't have a place to hook up right now, so I'm living off the house batteries, generator in the RV and a smaller solar generator Yeti400.  My RV has a propane tank on it...
