Best overnight options for long distance trips?

Generally speaking, I wouldn't be too concerned about getting some rest in rest areas in Washington and Oregon.  We do it all the time and have never had a bit of trouble.  We also didn't know California rest areas were considered dangerous so have stayed in a couple on I5 for six or seven hours...

    Let's talk about party lights,

I like the rope lights along the ground.  You can illuminate a pathway which really helps at night.  Looks cool too.

    TX suggestions ?

Lewis and Clark's Trail will bring you right through the Columbia River Gorge - it's a sight to see.  There's a beautiful Washington State Campground at Maryhill.  If you prefer to boondock, plan on stopping just below the John Day Dam.  It's Corp of Engineer and free.  You get off of I84 at...

    Idaho

No, as far as I know southeastern Idaho is tornado free.  The only effect of their frequent lightening storms is that my sister and I have to bail out of the hottub!!  Lots of mosquitos over there in the summer, though, with all of the irrigation ditches carrying water diverted from the Snake River.

    TX suggestions ?

There's much to see in Washington.  Which side of the state are you heading to Island Hopper?  On the west you have the Pacific Ocean, Olympic Peninsula, Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens,  and beautiful green trees and mountains.  ON the east side of the Cascade Mountains it is dry and...

    Hello from Washington State

Thanks for the welcome.  I'll remember that you're going to be in Moses Lake.  We've been talking about doing some Rving around and kayaking in Potholes Lakes, and I'd like to take my partner up to see Dry Falls.  Be sure to get up there to see that.  It's a geological wonder for sure. ...

    Hello from Washington State

Hi from Washington State.  I just found this forum and it looks like a good one.  We have a 1993 Southwind. We gutted it; rearranged; laid down hardwood flooring; put in all new furniture; and had the outside repainted.  We're now in the process of refinishing the cabinets and putting carpet up...

    Idaho

Boise might be urban Idaho but if you want beauty you'll want to head either north into the panhandle or east past Idaho Falls.  JMHO Sorry I don't have information on rates.  My sister lives in Rigby and when they built a house, I nagged my brother-in-law into putting in a motorhome hookup...

    TX suggestions ?

Hi Y'all,  I'm new to this forum but thought I'd drop a line.  I live in Washington State, but was in Texas during Christmas break.  Our motorhome is hooked up near Lake Whitney which is northwest of Waco.  I'm not sure where you will be traveling from but if it's possible I can recommend...
