    The Watchman Implant

I've had at least 2, maybe 3, ablations. After my last ablation, my cardiologist felt that I could go off medications but kept me on warfarin (blood thinner) just to be sure. It only costs me maybe $7 per quarter on my Medicare Advantage policy.

The fastest you've ever been in a car?

130mph (rev limiter) on various race tracks, 110mph on Southern State Pkwy, LI, NY. Fully stock engine, 1994 Porsche 911RSA, 225hp.

    Which way to tow?

I agree with Kirk, Gary has it pretty well covered. We drove our coaches about 180,000 miles over 15 years. Most of the miles had a car or trailer attached. The trailer was only used when towing our Porsche to track events and also carried our track tires. Our first towed was a Nissan Xterra...

    Abbreviations on forums

Many years ago, when Col McCormack owned the Chicago Tribune, he insisted on a number of changes in spelling to simplify, align with phonetic sound and save space. I liked them and have used them: thru, nite, WGN (World's Greatest Newspaper) etc. H&R Block has a 40 page list of acronyms.

I have a forum history question?

How about friends calling our motor home, which cost more than our house, a camper. Illinois doesn't border Canada and, in Chicago, we only called "soda pop" pop. When we moved to NYS/CT, it took a long time to get used to the term "soda". LOL

    Thinking about a big upgrade

We bought our first RV, a new 38' DP, in the spring of 1998 in Phoenix. Still owned a home in NYS which we put up for sale while our new home in Goodyear, AZ was being built. The dealer would hold the RV for us until we could come back to pick it up. We joined the RV Forum on CompuServe in the...

    Ron Ruward, R.I.P.

Gary, thanks for posting those pictures. I almost didn't recognize myself<LOL>. With the discussion of Sam's Camp, I am trying to remember the name of their "campground manager." Shirley? I know she died a few years ago, but she was so helpful to all of us transient campers when Ron and Sam...

    Campgrounds near Phoenix

We used to stay at Cotton Lane in Goodyear many years ago when we were building our house. Many of our Forum friends stayed there as well while passing thru or on their way to QZ. Well located; 2 Costco's within 8-10 miles, Kohls, Target and a lot more close by. You can even give me a call, I...

    Hot Coffee

I discovered the Aeropress ($30+/-) many years ago. It's attraction was great coffee freshly made while dry camping, similar to a French press. Also used a coffee bean burr grinder. Heated water to 190° on our propane stove, used the inverter for a minute or two to power the grinder for the...

    Casino Camping

Not sure if it hasn't changed but we always preferred casino camping to Walmart or others for overnite parking. We were well prepared and kind of preferred dry camping. The biggest advantage of casino camping was: when we arrived I would go inside and request permission and location to park...
