Onan 4000 generator runs but surges

In theory you should be able to check the switch by bypassing it. It's either a normally open circuit that closes at low level or normally closed that opens at low level. Upplug the switch & see it the gen starts and runs steady. If no start, jump the leads and test again.

Where did my Diesel fuel go?

You said it was parked on the grass. Maybe it settled front to back or side to side allowing the fuel to shift. If the filler side was higher when you parked there could have been a void on the other side of the tank. Any deeper wheel ruts where it was parked?

Need for Loading Ramps with a Toy Hauler

Using the tongue jack works fine for me. When I first bought the TH I tried to load my sidecar rig with the trailer fairly level, still hooked to the truck, no jacks down. Rig just barely scraped one of the hack mounting brackets. I screwed a 4 foot by 1 foot piece of 1/2 inch plywood down in...

    Tow Vehicle

Take a look here at the specs page & choose your model: http://www.rvweb.com/guides/manufacturers/thor/models/2004_tahoe_lite_tt-1084488018791 There should be a tag or decal somewhere on the trailer itself. Look inside the cabinet doors for a decal, or a metal plate with the VIN on the outside.

    Running lights blowing fuse

I would start with points of easiest access. As stated, check the trailer plug. Also look at the plug pigtail and it's range of motion. This is a likely spot for a wire to get rubbed or pulled, make sure it has enough slack for turns. Then I would take each light apart and check the...

What truck do I need? 20k pound trailer, 3500lb hitch weight

OP is looking at a Toyhauler. Doesn't having the toy(s) loaded in the back lessen the 20% pin weight?

    Hi. New to rv forum.

Welcome. Take your time, read through the posts here, ask questions. since you have a trailer you should have a basic idea of your needs. Go and look at as many motorhomes as you can so you get an idea of what you like/dislike in a floorplan. Come back and ask questions about specific units...

    Clam Corporation 9281 Quick-Set Escape Shelter, 140 X 140-Inch, Forest Green

Anything will blow away if it's not anchored. I used to vend at outdoor events and used 3 corkscrew type dog tie outs. Placed 1@ in the center of each side and the back wall and used nylon cords from the top of the corner posts to the tie out stake. Cargo tie down straps would work as well. One...

Rv direct to septic? No holding tanks?

There is no P-trap in an RV toilet. With an RV toilet piped direct to septic or sewer you have the potential for an explosive environment from sewer gas (methane). And a likely odor problem.

Question on buying a use trailer out of state from a private party

I've loaned both cargo trailers & campers to friends with my plate & registration numerous times. I know of 2 instances where they were stopped, no issues because the paperwork was valid.

Question on buying a use trailer out of state from a private party

Ask the seller to leave his tag on it? Call your insurance co. to add coverage and show that document to the seller.

    Rv/toy hauler

At the very least you will have to reinforce the frame/floor in that area as well as the "ramp". The trailer was not constructed to carry that weight concentrated in the back. You may also have to modify the suspension. But, you're young and this will be a great learning experience. Make...
