    Won't make it to GNR

Paul, after a week or so away, I just dropped in on this forum, and read of this terrible tragedy. I am in shock. My wife and I sit here with tears in our eyes, and heavy hearts. Our prayers for you and all your family.

Need PN's for air and oil filter?

My 2002 3126B uses Wix 2 micron fuel filter #33783, or NAPA #3783, or CAT # 1R0759. Since there is only one filter, I always use the 2 micron. My setup has the filter, with clear seperator and drain at the bottom. You can also get a spin-on filter with no bowl or drain. Air filter is WIX...

Best GPS or app for RV

Yes Ned, that's right. Shortest route is almost never preferred over quickest, for that reason, and also it would take you down one-lane roads or through cities instead of using the bypass around them. In the case of my CoPilot app, it is definitely set to quickest, and is not set to avoid toll...

Best GPS or app for RV

True, but the CoPilot ap is self-contained on the device, and does not need cell service. I just used it this past weekend; only a 5 hour trip Delaware into central Pa. The routes it chose (and also the alternate routed it presented), were good, but one thing I didn't like is it kept telling me...

Survey of CRT TV to LCD replacements

Trooperbart, there is ceiling material behind the TV cabinet. Mine is an '02 Horizon, so I think it's the same as your's. I removed the TV and corner cabinet this afternoon, and it was a bit of a PITA, but not too bad. The problem I had removing it, is that the metal strap that clamps the TV...

Need a new car....would like to use it as a Toad. Any suggestions or favorites?

Late to join this topic, but I wanted to know what model year MDX you chose. It has been on my "short list", but seems that Acura removed the towing endorsement after 2005 model year, (although I think that '06 is the same drive train, and probably also towable).

    Towing long distance

Have trans fluid replaced with synthetic (Amsoil, Syntec, etc.). Trans will run cooler; last longer.

    Freezer in storage compartment

Bill, nice job you did there. What model Joey Bed did you buy, and did you get it directly from Joey Bed? I have the same freezer, and have been thinking of adding the slide tray, to make it easier to access. Your setup looks to be just perfect.

    Rust under compartment door

John,, Thanks! for the good info and those pics. Looks like I am going to got that same route, and get'er done. Aside from the motorhome, I have a few other projects in mind for that bead-blaster, so I think I'm going to get the same one. My compressor is smaller than the one you mentioned; it...

    Rust under compartment door

John, that's good info, but I wonder if you could share more. I have a decent compressor here at the brick & sticks; and plenty of room to work, but I have never done any sand/shells/bead blasting before. Can you point me to your source for that nozzle & beads (Harbor Freight?). And which...

    Rust under compartment door

Well, Art, add me to the list of people who who buy stainless or aluminum replacement skirts for my coach (an '02 Horizon). I don't see us having much success with Winnebago, though. Although it seems simple enough for them to do, being a publicly-held company would probably complicate things...

    Running air compressor while camped?

I have definitely done that in my 02 Horizon. With jacks down; slides out, I started the engine, and aired up the tires with no problem. The bags do not inflate. Of course the jacks-down alarm was beeping, but it's only doing what it's supposed to.

    Newmar Kountry star slide problems

Kris, you have had it back to the factory twice for this problem, and they just repaired/replaced subfloor and tile? They should have been looking beyond the obvious, and find out what's causing the fllor to buckle. Call them again, and bring it to the attention of next level.

    CA Smog Check woes

Don, the problem I would be having is as much (or MORE!) with the dealer as it is with the inspector increasing adle speed to slide it thru. When you called the dealer out on the carpet the first time it passed by raising the idle speed, he agrred that it wasn't properly repaired, and took it...

    CA Smog Check woes

And why did they take it to Gilroy, 70 miles away, when they could have taken it to Livermore again. Did they know it was on the edge, and hope that it would squeak by? Why not call a few DMV test facilities, and ask annonomously if you can bring your vehicle for inspection, and increase the...
