Plan to leave second week of June.  Love the mountains.  Wanted to be sure Yellowstone and Grand Canyon are on the list, doesn't matter if we see them going or coming back.  Have traveled outside US but is my first trip west.  You know us Southern Girls like to stay in warmer weather.
