    2005 Durango Towing 31ft TT

Yes, I have also been checking the tire pressure. I checked the pressure when I was doing an inspection on the DD before picking up the camper. Fresh Amsoil, clean air filter, checked transmission fluid and coolant, checked tire pressure and bumped up the rears by 5 for the additional load bring...

    2005 Durango Towing 31ft TT

We considered that, but all of their "season sites" are booked. We are leaving it for most of the season, but it will have to be removed by October 1st as the storage option is only applicable to dedicated seasonal sites. The last time we will use it will be Labor Day weekend, so since we...

    2005 Durango Towing 31ft TT

Thanks, Bar! I wouldn't say it was good in the manner that it was comfortable in that wind. I definitely had to stay aware for side gusts, but I would think that its like that for any towing vehicle. I was just prepared for it after dealing with our class C in 24mph wind before I upgraded the...

    2005 Durango Towing 31ft TT

I am aware of the sail effect in cross winds. I learned real quick when we bought our Class C. I admit that its a little different with a TT, but I am intentionally planning when I transport it to and from the site for days with little to no wind. 18mph wind was a little iffy, so I took my time...

    2005 Durango Towing 31ft TT

We bought a 2021 Starcraft 26BHS a few weeks ago. It was the biggest TT we could tow under the weight rating of my 5.7 Durango. On the way home after picking it up, I was fighting 18mph winds and moderate hills on the highway. No load, I get 17-18mpg, but I was getting 7mpg against the wind. The...

    Upgrade to towing wiring

I know its been a while, but I finally got a moment to snap a picture of the installation. I put it in the center console since I didn't want my knee to bump into it on the dash and this cubby is really to small to have any purpose.

    Upgrade to towing wiring

So I finally found the brake controller wiring. The previous owners cut the connector off. The wires were taped off behind the harness between the brake pedals. I need to extend the wires to reach the controller anyways, so I will just crimp on some extensions. Also, Hopkins makes an OEM fit...

    360 birds eye view cameras

I would just look for one with a lifetime warranty and make a junction box at the mounting locations so if one of the cameras fails, you can easily replace it.

    Upgrade to towing wiring

According to my owners manual, there should have been a pigtail in the glove box and a connector above the brake for an aftermarket brake controller. The pigtail would be long gone since I bought this vehicle used, but I only see one connector under the panel and its white with 2 green wires...

    Upgrade to towing wiring

Can you post a few examples for me to look at? I haven't seen those.

    Enclosure for v hull?

Mine says that now too. I think they just updated it like you said. Sweet!

    Enclosure for v hull?

That's almost exactly what I am looking for. But, they are sold out of blue. The only thing it is missing is some half walls on the sides for shorter people. I could probably make something out of spandex or some other fabric though. Our current bimini already has velcro on the canvas, so I...

    Enclosure for v hull?

Most of the ones I have seen use clear poly for windows. My father had a half enclosure for his Alumacraft that worked great, but I can't find anything similar for my old Forester.

    Upgrade to towing wiring

Excellent point. We are planning on leaving the rig over the summer and connected to shore power while it is there. I don't see a point in leaving good batteries to just sit all summer, so I was going to swap the ones on the new rig into the old rig that we use for dry camping and I will install...

    Upgrade to towing wiring

We put a down payment on a new Starcraft trailer. Weight of 6500lbs. We plan to tow it twice a year to a seasonal spot and back with a 2005 Durango. The Hemi AWD with 3.92 gears is rated for 8700lbs, which shouldn't be an issue. We have shore power and city water on site, so I will likely just...
