Bathroom upgrade and moving the toilet just a few inches?

I did this and more to mine. Tore out the tub, toilet and sink and used that whole area for a new 3' x 3' shower stall. I then tore out the bedroom next to it in the back end of the rig and moved the toilet and sink to that area. I used the old black tank for the shower and then after moving the...

    Really worn decals

Get a pinstriping removal tool. 3m makes them, so do other companies. Look on ebay if you can't find one in your local store. Goes onto a power drill, like a big rubber eraser it takes off decals easy. Just be careful you do not press too hard or linger too long in one area because it does get...

Vendor for Replacement Interior Decorative Lights

Buy a regular light fixture from anywhere. You just need to get the 12v bulbs that will fit them. I did this in my bathroom with fixtures I made out of rum bottles, and in my living area with a light I found at thrift store. I found screw in 12v bulbs from a marine store online. They had an...

Chalk painting all those "wood look" surfaces.

Did mine, didn't even sand, just washed down any areas that would obviously be greasy from fingers after years of use (around handles, edges.) I used a gloss interior paint, but exterior would be fine as well. Maybe even hold up better. After one year of use I had a few small areas of chipping...

    Vintage Baby needs Brain Transplant...

I rebuilt part of my cabover bunk area. My biggest regret was just not taking out the front windows entirely. My windows don't leak, but after living in it nearly two years and sleeping up there every night it became obvious that we would have liked having more darkness (even though I have...

    Eternabond question...

Eternabond also makes a great caulk Eternacaulk. I have used this under the eternabond tape on any seams, screwheads, etc, and also along the tape edges on the roof just for super precaution to make sure the tape never lifted. Been two years now and not a budge or leak.

Is my kitchen going to get my RV exploded?

No worries once the propane is out of the lines. I removed my whole kitchen since I only cook outdoors on the grill or griddle.  I had a welded in tank outside (that was completely full 30 pounds worth-had to bleed that all out slowly since no propane place would purge it for me) and removed...

Update on post Fun on Wheels is Ready to Hit the Road! Before & After Pics

Now that we have been on the road nearly a year, I wanted to update how things have been going with the remodeled RV after road testing. All the things I had concerns about, like the tiles coming loose or major mechanical problems have not been an issue-knock on wood! Since I had no previous RV...

Should my wife and I become full time RVers?

Do it. The park we are in now has a young couple in their 20's no plans on kids anytime soon. They love the freedom to move about and see so much more than when you are stuck in a house. I agree to get a trailer or 5th wheel if you will be staying longer stretches in one place. We only have our...

    RV Photos

Update! Got to see Roni's RV in person and it is wonderful. So many touches that are unexpected and inspiring. Love the sheer curtains that hide the blinds and the little shutters over the window. The sheers have little starfish and shell design in them. The pictures do not do justice to how...

    Some Remodel Questions

This forum helped me tons when I remodeled my 1984 Class C. I tore out all the carpet. Wasn't hard, took longer to pull the hundreds of staples out of the plywood after I pulled the carpet. I redid the bunk area with more carpet, but redid my floors with solid bamboo planks that I glued down...

    RV Photos

I know that her husband Trevor made the new dinette area. Just met up with them in Florida for dinner after talking with Roni through the forum for quite some time after bonding over our "beachy" rv remodels. If you want specific information from her just message her directly though this site. I...

    Mini Rally

Yes it was really cool to finally meet someone from the forum. especially with our common interests! It was nice for someone to see it that understood what I did from start to finish because you saw it happening. It would be fantastic to have a rally of "remodeled" rv's, how interesting that...

    taking out carpet in cockpit//flooring

My Class C cab area had the metal floor under the carpet. It also was screwed and glued in. I did manage to get it all out and replace it with new carpet. The floor underneath had wiring running under carpet that ran from under the dash and under the driver's seat, was also covered in glue and...

    Tiling bathroom

I did mine with cement board 1/4" and tiled with tiny mosaic tiles. I used an adhesive with silicone in it and then grouted it all with pure silicone. Looks great, has stayed adhered great even down the bumpiest roads and is a breeze to clean. The overall weight didn't seem to be a concern it...
