I have had 2 Dometic/A&E power awnings and have no problems whatsoever with leaving them out. The newest one is on a 2012 5ver. I always hang a 6' tall sunshade on it with no problem. I do however have some aluminum telescoping tubes that attach & stow on the awning arms that I designed and...
Use the Reese Sidewinder and you will not have a problem and it takes a std. 5w hitch. No need for an expensive, noisy slider with the Sidewinder. Had a slider and took it back due to noise on take off and stopping. No noise with the std 5w hitch and the Sidewinder. Plus I tow with a full...
We have the Sidewinder and just love it. It allows me to run a full bed hard tonneau cover while towing. Have pulled over 5,000 miles and no problems whatsoever.
I disagree with your statement on the shocks on the trailer. We have the Alko torsion axles and it was pretty good before putting the shocks on, but it is excellent with the shocks. We never have anything move inside the trailer and we have a rear kitchen. Whatever is left on the counter is...
I never changed a thing on my trailer or truck when I put shocks on the trailer and the trailer shocks stopped the dolphining and chucking. The only change that was made is the shock addition.
Not much to tell, the shocks make the trailer follow the contour of the road without exagerating the swales, bumps and other gyrations of the road without telegraphing them back to the truck. It is a real pleasure to pull. Cost about $360 for the shocks & bolts and 3 days to make the parts and...
Have towed tt since 1976 with no problems whatsoever all with wdh and dual sway bars, got a new 5er in Feb this yr and it is much easier to tow, more stable and easier to back, etc. I also put shocks on the 5er to eliminate the "dolphining/chucking". I much prefer the 5er.
I added the led ribbon lights to the attaching rail for the awning. This is not my trailer, but my lights are just like this. BTW, I have the power awning and this one is a manual.
Wanting to tie down our Dometic 9100 power awning and not wanting to put a load on the flimsy adjustable arms, I came up with these adjustable all aluminum poles with 20 different heights of 30". Will extend to a little over 9' and down to 5-1/2'. We were in Florida in July and had 3 days and...
We have a 2008 A&E non-automatic electric awning and IMO it is the biggest piece of junk I have ever seen. It was factory installed. We have purchased 6 manual A&E awnings since 1976 and would trade someone in a heartbeat for a manual. This electric awning is totally useless when used in even...
