HWH Going out of Bussiness (?) and Winnebago Going to Power Gear in 2012

A good friend of mine who owns a 2007 Fleetwood Excursion spent several thousand dollars to have the troublesome automatic leveling Power Gear electric jack system on his coach replaced with a HWH hydraulic jacking system.  He had the work done at the HWH factory and is very happy with the HWH...

    NEW CHASIS BATTERY BOILING OVER

Picture shows that the two batteries areindeed connected in series, which is the source of your problem.  You will need a longer cable to connect the two negative terminals together.  connecting the two batteries in parallel will solve your problem.  Good luck. Dean L

House Battery Switch on Dash Will Not Turn Power Off

**UPDATE** After tracing wiring from the switch on the dash to the electrical bay in front, the solenoid that is controlled by the dash switch was hanging up in the "batteries connected" position, so the switch position had no effect.  I had the solenoid replaced and life is good again. ...

House Battery Switch on Dash Will Not Turn Power Off

I have a 2004 Journey and today when I put the coach away, I turned the dash switch for the house batteries to the "off" position and nothing shut down.  Any ideas, folks.  I'll check it again tomorrow, but if anyone has a clue, I'm listening.  Thanks. :-

OK ready to test towing the new Jeep...

The 2007 and 2008 Wranglers have a steering wheel lock which activates when the steering wheel is turned 180 degrees.  The 2009 and 2010 Wranglers do not have the lock.  The key must be in the accessory position to disable the lock engagement on the 07/08 MY.  Without the IOD fuse pulled there...

Towing a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara

We tow a 2007 Wrangler Sahara with a Blue Ox Aventa LX tow bar, the Brake Buddy Classic aux. braking system, and the Blue Ox base plate in the Jeep.  The 2007 and 2008 Wranglers have a steering lock (wheel locks when turned 180 degrees without key) so the key must be in the second position to...

Towing a Jeep Wranger, which Base Plate do you use...

In reply to shastalake's original post, I am using a Blue Ox baseplate on my 2007 JK Wrangler.  This baseplate attaches to the Jeep's frame rails and includes safety cables tying the baseplate to the frame rails as well, in case the bolts attaching the baseplate fail or fall out.  They are...

Went to Winne for the tour, and got painted.....

We are having the front cap, roof radius on both sides, and a roof joint recaulk done on both sides as I write this.  I was told that CDI's equipment doesn't spray directly around the curve on the top of the cap and the radius panel, therefore the clear coat & paint are thinner there than...

    air dumps 08 meridian

On my 2004 Journey the air dump lanyards are in the front wheel well on the passenger side.  One loop is just forward of the tire and two are just aft of the tire.  The loops run through holes in the frame rail.  Just grab them with your awning rod and pull for 10-12 seconds.  I have never seen...

Towing a Miata four wheels down

Roamingrob: We towed a 2002 Miata four-down for three years and over 20K miles with no problems.  Our Miata had the six-speed tranny and from what I could learn, the six-speed has a lay shaft which does turn in the oil keeping the gears lubricated while towing.  I did change the transmission...

2009 or 2010 Jeep Wrangler Towing

Sarge: From what I have read about 09 & 10 Wranglers, your thoughts are correct--If no key is needed to prevent the steering from locking, then the IOD fuse does not need to be pulled as the Brake Buddy or whatever braking system on board can run off the 12 volt plug on the lower dash. I'll...

2009 or 2010 Jeep Wrangler Towing

We now tow a 2007 Wrangler with the six-speed manual tranny.  We have the Blue Ox base plate, Adventa II tow bar and a Classic Brake Buddy system setup.  The transfer case is set to neutral, tranny set in any gear-1st through 6th.  The 07 &08 Wranglers must have the key set to the accessory...

What is your Weight sheet CCC

I looked in the closet of our 2004 Journey 39W today and the CCC is stated at 4107 pounds.  I don't think there is enough storage space available for stuff to get close to that number but haven't weighed our coach lately. DeanLinAZ

    Tow Dolly

We have towed a PT Cruiser with automatic tranny for five years on a dolly.  We always put the PT's transmission in "Park" when towing.  Just be sure that the parking brake is OFF--don't ask me how I know that.... DeanLinAZ Winnebago Journey 39W 2005 PT Cruiser
