    Hello from university students

Enjoy your project, sounds like a good one.  We just spent 3 nights "dry camping" on the Pacific coast.  It was 47 degrees inside the motorhome every morning.  We slept with five blankets on top of us and so we were not cold ourselves.  The coach heater would (and did) warm the place up to 78...

    Diesel vs. Gas

Like jje1960 says, keep it simple.  My thoughts are that you should buy what you can afford and then get out and enjoy it.  Don't lock yourself into something you have to constantly worry about what it costs.  I don't care what type of RV you have, but I do hope you and your family arrive...

    REMOVING THE ENGINE COVER

Although I have workhorse chassis it should be similar.  Inside the motor home, use an allen wrench to unlock it.  The lock is located at the center (side to side) along the top rear edge of the cover.  Carpet hides it and you may have to feel around with your fingers to find the thing.  Then...

    Pomona RV Show

The Pomona RV show opened today; did anyone go?  Did you enjoy it?  Can you see it all in one day?  Is it very far to walk from the KOA to the show - trying to decide if we should take the toad or not.  We plan on staying two nights at KOA, with one full day for the show.  Maybe a day and a half...

    Sightseer Toilet Sprayer

Bill: Just thought you might like to know how much money you saved.  Today, I ran across my receipt for the replacement spray head with hose attached that I bought directly from Winnebago at their service center in Forest City, just a couple of months ago.  It was $44 + change.  Which is a lot...

How do I get these drapes off?

What?  Never thought about washing them.  Guess I'll give it a try.  Hope they don't shrink. For those of you who tossed them out, what did you replace them with?  Something homemade?

House battery drain - very strange - 2003 Itasca

I have the outside radio (entertainment center) but never had the problem.  Thanks for the heads up though,  I will check into how it gets it's power before I do have the problem.  There's a rocker switch on the dash board that allows you to chose power to the radio from the engine battery or...

    You people scare me!

Then it's probably good that you didn't read all this negative stuff before you made your purchase or you might have not bought it.  Now that it's yours,  just go out and make use of it.  Relax, enjoy it, have fun, life's short.

    Sightseer Toilet Sprayer

I had the same symptom, and our units are probably the same.  The replacement spray head with hose attached came as a one piece unit and it included a new little hose clamp to install it.  The hose is simply attached at the back of the toilet with a small hose clamp.

How did you get started camping?

I tent camped a lot in Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks with my folks throughout the 1950's.  My dad had a "permanent" camp site at Yosemite; you had to camp so many days per year to keep it reserved in your name.    My Aunt and Uncle had a camp site next to ours.  So my...

    Coming Unglued

Wow, I would have hoped these problems would have been resolved since Winnebago built my 05.  I'm in the market for upgrading to a new DP, not in any hurry but if the right deal comes along on the right motor home, I'm ready now.  I'm not glad to hear about this stuff, but it is one reason I...

    Winnebago factory service

I just visited Winnebago service without an appointment the week before labor day.  Their appointments were booked through October at the time.  I got there on Monday at about 2PM.  They allowed us to stay in their rally park across the street until they could "work us in" their schedule.  They...

A Bit Disappointed in Forest City Today...

My thanks to both of you.  I really appreciate your comments, this helps a lot.  I am more anxious to get there now and I feel much more confident about where to go and what to expect.

A Bit Disappointed in Forest City Today...

Looks like I'm in a similar situation with regard to appointments.  Dumb me, I guess, I called 2 weeks ago and was told they are booked through October.  That was a surprise.  I've never been there and probably won't be back in the area (if ever).  We're currently in Branson, MO and will soon be...
