Another drink water water hose question

X2. Would never buy another regular hose. This one is much easier to store and takes up a lot less space.

    power source for boondocking

Check out the Champion 3400 inverter generator. Great quality and good price.  Love mine.

Wiring a Blue Sea 187 Circuit Breaker

Just received this from the Blue Sea tech- Doug, Thank you for the question. With this specific type of breaker it doesn?t matter. But Line is the battery side and load is the device side. Best Regards, Kevin Patterson Blue Sea Systems ABYC Certified Electrician Technical Support Specialist

Wiring a Blue Sea 187 Circuit Breaker

Just received my surface mount 187 circuit breaker/switch from Blue Sea.  It has two terminals labeled "load" and "line".  I assume the Load terminal should be connected to my battery and the Line goes to my RV circuits.  I emailed Blue Sea tech but have not heard back from them and need to get...

Help ensure my inverter install looks good

Highest I have seen at the batteries using a multimeter was 14.1. Trimetric read 14.15 and 6.8 amps.  Amps started dropping almost immediately and where down to 4.9 in about two minutes. I ran this test after I had "drained" the batteries down about 20-30%.  The Boondocker is rated for...

Help ensure my inverter install looks good

Al- I discussed the option of buying an Iota charger to run off my generator in this post- http://www.rvforum.net/SMF_forum/index.php/topic,114429.new.html#new Gary didn?t seem to feel there would be much benefit using the Iota vs. my current Boondocker charger.

    Iota battery charger opinions?

One of the differences is my Boondocker is in the rear of the trailer about 25 feet from the batteries.  It also looks like the cabling from the charger to the batteries is only about 6 gauge.  The Iota would be placed about 7-8 feet from the batteries.

Help ensure my inverter install looks good

Since I don?t have the weight capacity in front of my trailer to add another set of batteries (120lbs) I guess I will just go with the 1000w inverter and limit the use to lower wattage appliances.  I also won?t add in the microwave circuit.  I can scale back some on the size of the battery...

Help ensure my inverter install looks good

Funny you should mention the battery voltage and how it?s measured. That?s exactly the problem I was having and what prompted me to draw up the diagram.  So I will move the shunt closer. I just measured and the current negative cable to the shunt is just short of 4?. Back to the inverter...

Help ensure my inverter install looks good

No, my rig cannot take the additional weight in front.  I would have to move my spare tire to the back and haven't quite figured out where I would put it!

Help ensure my inverter install looks good

Yea, looks likes easiest option is to move the shunt and install a new cable from the junction box to the battery.  I have attached the drawing again anyway.

Help ensure my inverter install looks good

All those calculations are beyond my expertise but I will take them as gospel, so thanks so much.  Maybe I need to step down to a 1000w inverter and forget the coffee maker and hair dryer, I can turn on the genny if needed.  Wonder if the 900 watt microwave will work on a 1000w inverter...

Help ensure my inverter install looks good

Reason is because there is a junction box on my trailer tongue that ties in various wires that go to the Trimetric.  I know that sounds vague but don't know how else to put it.  There are wires there that I have identified but I am not sure what would happen if I relocate them.  I have a diagram...

Help ensure my inverter install looks good

Since I am using the Trimetric I have to run the negative wire to the shunt, which is currently further away from the battery.  I may look at moving the shunt, but that brings up other issues with it.  I assume I will need to use the same gauge wire, 2/0 or bigger, going from the other terminal...
