I am not well versed on this, but it is similar to a garden hose valve that leaks when the water is on, but when I shut it off the smell goes away and it appears to not be leaking. I'm not sure what "back seating" is. Thanks for the responses.
I had my 1989 Winnebago Cheiftain out over Christmas and when we arrived at our destination I turned the propane on to fire up the furnace. I noticed a strong propane smell and traced it back to the valve. I was wondering two things, 1) Can I get a standard(lowes/home depot/etc) shut off valve...
I replaced the whole commode (which was a thetford) for about $175. Try going to pplmotorhomes.com as I have had good luck getting replacement parts here.
Don, thanks for the reply. I had the same question as the airbag was leaking where the rubber is crimped to the steel base. This is why I was wondering if I accidentally overinflated it while in manual mode, or if it was just a defective bag. Attached is an old diagram of the JetCo's with a...
I'm needing some help on this one. I have a '89 31' Winnebago Chieftain on the P30 Chassis which originally came with the Jet Co airbag system for the rear end. I recently replaced the Firestone bags and one of the new bags was leaking. Does anyone know or have any literature on Jet Co? I...
My 31' Chieftain looks like it either bottomed out, or warped above the gas door and on the driver side above the ac vent. Not sure if there is anything I can do to for this, as it is about 2' in length on either side. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.
I have a 1989 Winnebago Chieftain on the P30 workhorse chassis. My dash mounted factory Jet Co air ride/bag system is working, however the airbags are original and dry-rotting so they quickly lose pressure while parked. I was thinking about replacing them and wanted some feedback from the...
I live in St Louis and have a 89 Winnebago Chieftain on the P30 Workhorse chassis. I installed new shocks all around and that helped immensely. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a reputable shop for potential (replacements) air bags, leaf springs, and breaks? I've called a couple and...
I have an old Norcold fridge that is not working optimally. Someone recommended adding a fun to help circulate the cold air and that worked beautifully, except the fan is battery powered and eats up the batteries within a few hours. I was thinking about hard wiring a computer fan to accomplish...
I have an '89 Chieftain that was in the same predicament. I bought a conversion kit (about $20 at Napa) and charged it with the newer freon. You can pick it up at autozone or any of the auto stores and it was about $44 per 32oz and came with a lubricant and and sealant and it's own...
It was for the chassis and not the trailer. They both are routed near each other, but I don't tow anything and the problem was the break and tail lights. Any thoughts on the yellow wire from the front lights that is heating up?
Also look at your generator, I did a similar thing and tripped the breaker on the generator itself and once I unplugged things I reset that breaker which remedied the problem.
