    Greetings Forum Chums Just returned from a few days on the road to a dead water heater...turn on the switch...nothing...any ideas as where to start....I am a novice at WH repair....thought I would start at what seams to be the Electrical module and get it tested...not even a sound from the unit...

    just as an update, today the furnace worked flawlessly....the temp was 40 and not 5....it cycled on and off as it should.....that being said....the furnace was working in a constant on mode when it was 5 out....even with the steps I took to insulate underneath...I am sure the R value is meager...

    volts good....took off the thermostat....jumped the wires....Heat working....I will see if it quits after a bit....sometimes it ran for a considerable length of time before it began to blow cold air

    Electrical issue

    Did some plunging and purging and all of a sudden it drained very very quickly... so I don't know where it was hung up ....but afterwards I filled both tanks a couple of times and purged them again ...so everything seems to be in good shape now and running very freely.. Thanks!

    Thanks for the input guys.... plunged and prodded.. wherever it was it broke loose and drained quite quickly at that point... spray a little bit of contact cleaner on some of the rocker switches and it appears that all of my tank readings and so on are now accurate... the last project that have...
