The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an RV or an interest in RVing!
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I've been to Zion many times (the last was two months ago) and yes it can be extremely crowded. The problem is the park itself is only 14 miles from gate to gate and the only parking area for the most part is the visitor center. There are very few spots to pull off and just take in the view...
This post made me chuckle. I've been using one of those wands (the same one) now for 20 years. I should probably have a look at it. But here's what made me chuckle...
A number of years ago I had the epiphany that the tank would drain faster if I could relieve the vacuum in the tank during...
The same way you or I would check their reputation, word of mouth. If a contractor is an idiot there will be more than one complaint by a customer to the office believe me. If you have a better solution to helping a first time RV buyer please feel free to post it on another thread. I didn't...
I don't tend to stay in high end RV parks but the ones in the southwest that I do stay in even if they aren't gated require ALL contractors to check in. An RV park (even a cheap one) has a vested interest in trying to ensure that contractors that they allow in have a decent reputation.
This is why I recommend going to an RV park and inquiring as to a reputable mobile guy. What I didn't mention is that most RV repair places will also do this even if they don't consider themselves "mobile." RV parks (the decent ones at least) have a vested interest in not allowing people with...
I recently read a post by Dave911 and since what I'm about to say wouldn't be of any use to him now and I didn't want to hijack his thread I'll throw this out there on a new one.
I've been living part time in a 5th wheel (snow birding) now for twenty years and I've picked up more than a few...
We've used adhesive backed Velcro for almost 20 years. My late wife collected copper teapots and she displayed them on top of the kitchen cabinets. I've answered the question dozens of times from visitors "How do those stay up there when you're on the road?" Velcro, same with pictures.
I'm undoubtedly more neurotic about this subject than most. Our 5ver now has close to 70k miles on it since 2008 and gets the bearings pulled, inspected and repacked once a year. We've slowed our travel mileage considerably over the last few years and only get a little over 2k miles a year on...
As you have probably deduced by now, those fireplaces are nothing more than a space heater. Having said that there are much more efficient space heaters out there. We're currently semi-boondocked at a friends house with just a 20 amp service. If you pay attention you can run quite nicely on...
So I finally found the last two hinge reinforcements in existence apparently and they were on amazon for the paltry sum of $59.95!!! I installed the plate yesterday and what a difference it makes in the way the door closes. I was going to offer the opposite plate (which I don't need as i have...
So I ordered the very last door hinge reinforcement in existence on Amazon a few minutes ago. Hopefully I'll get a shipping confirmation from Mr. Bezo's assistant shortly, otherwise I'm gonna have to order a new door. From the looks of the reinforcement it should work pretty good with my JB...
So I just ordered the last one on Amazon. I think this will do the trick with my JB Welded hinge, if not it will go back and I'll order a replacement door. Right now I've got two paint stir sticks glued one on top of the other under the door to keep the weight off the thing as much as...
Well THAT was inconvenient!! Wife went to close the fridge door last nite and it jammed. Turns out the lower hinge receiver broke off. From what I've seen it appears that I'll be buying a new door because that hinge receiver is part of the door. Great engineering by Norcold. We happen to be...
Well CRAP!!! Wife opened our Dometic N811 fridge last nite and guess what? The lower hinge fractured and broke. At least the door didn't come crashing down it just jammed when she tried to close it. Can you let me know how yours turned out and where you got the parts that you needed. In the...
Personally I'm not a huge fan of government reservation systems in the first place but it is becoming our reality. Since I live in a tourist area I can say that I am fully in favor of local residents getting to take advantage before tourists. Hopefully Florida State Parks still have first come...
