    Camping World - Colorado Springs

Today is June 14.  Just had a laugh.  We had visited Camping World in Albuquerque and had a positive experience.  Great people there.  After our hail damage, I thought why not call camping world in Colorado Springs.  My first hint that thins would not go too well was the fourth time I was...

    Tire Preassure conflict

The manual for my 1997 Airstream Land Yacht 33 states that the tire pressure should be 65PSI.  The tag on the drivers door states that the pressure should be 80PSI.  The manual and the tag appear to both be Airstream publications.  Both give the tire size as 225/70R19.5.  Which one is the...

    Sewer hose size

I received the adapters today and that solves the problem of attaching "modern" sewer fittings to the older Thetford connectors.  The real issue is why an entire industry would make such a nonsensical error.  The difference in size of the connectors is very small.  The change from two locking...

The house goes on the market Tuesday

My elders used to say, "sink or swim".  I think one of the modern versions is, "Go for it".  Which ever is the best expression, we are doing it.  The furniture has all been sold, some few things are in storage and the motorhome is within a hairs breath of being our home.  We are ready, or at...

    Sewer hose size

Fond out on an Airstream trailer forum that Airstream used Thetford fittings for a while.  Maybe they still do.  The Thetford fittings use a three inch hose, but the connectors are a little larger.  Valterra, among others, makes an adapter.  I will try one of those and see what happens. Just...

    Sewer hose size

I don't have any leaking valves, but it is good to know there is a solution for that problem.  The Rhinoflex did not fit the sewer connection on the RV, so I assumed it did not fit the hose either.  Thanks for looking these up and giving me the links.  I will find out what is up tomorrow.

    Sewer hose size

My RV is a 1997 Airstream Land Yacht 33.  The elbow that I tried to use is: http://www.amazon.com/Camco-39847-RhinoFLEX-Degree-Fitting/dp/B006OQ35GU/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1442791681&sr=8-5&keywords=camco+elbow It is roughly 3/8 of an inch too small.  I am going to a dump station in Elkhart, IN...

    Sewer hose size

I purchased a Camco clear 45 degree elbow thinking it would be good to know when stuff stopped coming out of the tanks.  (It also swivels, but I don't know when I would use that.)  The elbo is too small to connect to my Rv's outlet.  I used the old hose that came with the RV when I bought it and...

    Leveling with legos

SielerBird, you gave me a good laugh.  I miss read your second sentence as:  "Most RVers are not level themselves."  I know that I will fit right in if that is the case. Thanks to everyone for the insight.  I will put my little bags of leveling legos in the storage compartment and, with luck, I...

    Leveling with legos

We are parked on the street in front of our house for now and I thought it would be a good time to see what I can do with leveling.  I  have a two foot level and I used it on the galley counter top.  If I am doing good math, the coach  is 8 inches down from front to back and also 8 inches down...

    Garmin RV 760LMT profile settings

Like most modern technical manuals, the manual for the RV 760LMT leaves much to be desired.  It is strictly limited to telling you to push this button to do that and that button to do this.  There is no reference as to why you might want to push a button.  That leaves me with a question about...

Converter location, 1997 Airstream LY 33 Motorhome

The saga of the missing converter continues.  After finding the converter and determining that, in fact, it was not working, I decided to replace it with a PD9260.  The new converter arrived a few days ago, but it has been to hot to lay half upside down while trying to not get trapped under the...

    Getting appointents while traveling

Hello, My wife and I will be starting our full time RVing this September.  Our plan is to go south for the winter,  see the west coast next spring and travel across the northern states during the summer.  We may need to  see a doctor now and then as we move around.  I am retired military, so ...
