The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an RV or an interest in RVing!

I guess I'll be the jerk and state that a couple in their 60's with "great jobs", marginal credit, and own nothing but bills, with no cash for a substantial down payment, probably shouldn't be jumping into RV'ing, much less full timing.

On long trips I average 500 miles. My longest was 600. It's not fun, but it's doable. I hit the road by 6am and typically arrived by 6pm.
When you're not retired and have 2 or 3 weeks for an extended trip I would much rather put the extra time in driving and have the time at my destination. ...
Hey all.
Been real busy this summer. Not enough time to even plan a trip, so here I am trying to salvage an early September trip to the great lakes.
Looking for advice on destinations and campgrounds. Open to all options.
The limiting factors are:
The US side only.
Interested in lakes...
I didn't read all the posts.
In case it has not been addressed:
Travel THROUGH NJ you are covered by FOPA, provided the firearm is unloaded and stored as already mentioned, and no unreasonable stops are made. That is open to interpretation, so it is best to go through and not stop. If you...
Make sure it's not something simple like the p-trap or other simple connection. There should be an access panel.
I wouldn't hesitate to repair something like that under warranty.
Take pictures and document everything.
So the trailer is currently gutted including cabinets, etc, etc?
If that is the case then I would use 1/2 treated plywood on the bottom, treated 2x4's as needed to stiffen the floor. Add the top flooring using whatever is adequate. Insulate in between with foam panels. Glue and screw...
It's difficult to alleviate that spongy feeling because in all likelihood the original floor was laminated (glued) to the insulation and bottom board creating a stronger ply that's difficult to replicate. The original was probably 1/4" luan. 1/2" is pretty thick for a trailer. If you want to...
The ride when towing is fine. When not loaded it's still decent on good roads. Bad roads can be a bit punishing.
Some people complain about every bump no matter what, so it's largely an individual thing.
Never substitute safety for comfort.
Most simple fixes like this one are best done yourself, IMO. Even if covered, who is going to fix it? A dealer? They'll rape you to do an inferior job, and keep your trailer for 3 months for good measure.
I would pound it down. Pick up a piece of sheet metal, cut and form it as required. ...
I don't see how it's feasible that the furnace is directly involved. It could be indirectly involved in some strange way, which has already been noted. You have a leak. Find it, and don't worry about the furnace.
