    Emptying tanks

My blackwater flush runs clear fairly soon after it's emptied.  it does not mean anything.  It just shows the part of the tank getting sprayed and the center channel of flow is clean. I found that if I close the dump and let the flush continue to run for a while (2-5 minutes), then dump again...

    Electrical issue ...

Glad you found a simple fix!  Just a "head's up".  If the relay is sticking, it may get progressively worse as the contacts pit and stick.  You may want to replace the relay. Gordon

    Status Update

Mobile RV service is in great demand in south Florida in the wintertime!  Saw lots of them around our campground last winter.  I had my awning and awning motor replaced by a local RV dealership and it was a real PITA to decamp twice (first time just so they could identify the parts needed...

    NAV SYSTEM

Thanks for the info, friends!  I see a "lump" on the cord, so that must be the FM receiver.  I have not blue-toothed my Garmin to phone, hence my confusion.  That's a cool feature.  From my experience on the PA TPK, it appears to be pretty accurate real-time information, at least around here...

    NAV SYSTEM

OK, I have a question for you GPS experts out there that has been messing with my head for a while now.  I thought I understood how they work (just getting timing signals from the satellites), but my Garmin Nuvi RV KNOWS when there is a traffic jam or just a slow-down ahead.  It tells me how...

    Electrical issue ...

My 50A cord has the 2 LED's in the plug head too. (2010 Tiffin Allegro)  They just show you have voltage on both circuits. One quit working a couple years ago, which made me worry I had a dead leg, but was just a failed indicator light.  Not a big deal.  Nice to have for the visual, but not an...

    Cleaning the Windshield

After a few trips up and down PA Rt.11/15 along the Susquehanna, the front of our coach gets downright furry.  The "soak and wipe" method works pretty well for the windshield, but not so much for the front of the coach.  I just wanted to reiterate a tip I got right here that really works -...

Is this a Class A or C motorhome? (pic)

Definitely an A-  ;) No issues with the link.  Photobucket is simply trying to find a way to get some money for it's services.  Pretty much every site that offers "free" services includes some sort of ad.  That's the price we pay.  Gordon

    RV gps

After having "issues" navigating our RV with our old trusty Tom-Tom, we went with the Garmin RV GPS.  It lets you switch between RV (you set up the size, weight, parameters) and car.  It works fine.  Only issue is it tries to route me around a 10-ton limit bridge near our daughter's house.  Huge...

    Alternate engine fuels

Just for fun, has anyone considered the link between higher CO2 in our atmosphere with their effect on crop growth? Hint:  US farmers have been experiencing bumper crops - enough to depress prices.  Of course, all that is published is the link to accelerated weed and alergy-causing plant...

Wow!  A software problem shaking your big rig!  Ugh....  Glad you got it resolved! Gordon

first trip to Florida and have questions

Happy to hear of your plans!  We did much as you are planning for the first time the winter before last.  I am somewhat anal about planning, so we had reservations for our entire winter by researching on the 'net and picking spots ahead of time.  As you have found, most southern FL state parks...

What is going on with my my house batteries?

We leave our motorhome plugged into 50A pretty much all the time.  The coach batteries still seem fine after 5 years.  Knock on Wood.  Only have to top off the water maybe 2-3 times a year, so I know they're not being overcharged.  Like has been said, I think inverters and chargers have come a...

    Residential Fridge Saga

The ice cream in our motorhome fridge is harder than that in our home fridge.  That's my only complaint about it. Maybe I've just had good luck, but the evaporative type fridges we've had in RVs over the years have all worked very well.  I really like that it switches to propane automatically...

    Tiffin Motor Homes

Just curious, RogerS, do Tiffins have a higher-than normal amount of issues from the factory?  I assumed that most owners of new rigs will find a "punch list" of some sort after the purchase.
