Cannot speak tp Jayco, but we've had an Oprn Range Roamer 357RES 5er for 2 years now and love it. Everything stays together, no found screws etc each trip.
Yes, I always used the tow/haul mode. What it does is raise the shift points and tighten the shifts. The air bags will be a must. You will probably only need 50 lbs of so, but it will really level the truck and make life easier.
I've blown out a rear window on a short bed tow truck even with one of those new trick front caps. Spend the money on the superglide and only cry once.
You might be Ok on the flat roads, but you will be most unhappy once you get into any kind of hill country. Trust me, my last tow vehicle was a 5.7 Tundra Crew Max.
Banks systems work as advertised and everything fits. If you're installing yourself, just follow the instructions exactly and it will all go together properly. You get what you pay for and Banks is top drawer stuff.
First, adjust the idle mix screws on the base of the carb ( 1 for a 2bbl, 2 for a 4bbl) individually for max rpm and smoothness. Then adjust the idle speed screw (on the linkage on the side of the carb) for enough rpm so the motor runs smoothly when the MH is in gear and stopped.
Brian,
I would START by figuring that the max for a trailer for your Sequoia is 5000. Gassers are not really happy pulling anything over about 70% of rated capacity. My last TT weighed in at 7500 loaded and my Tundra, rated at 10000, was maxed out on the Pa turnpike.
You might try Tom Raper in Richmond, west of Dayton. Plan B would be Adventure RV in Sopringboro, south of town, but they won't have tires "in Stock", and only open bankers hours. Plan C would be Arbogast on the south side of Troy, off I75 about 25 miles north of town.
I have a 2011 F250 crew short which has the same bed I think. I have the B&W and I'm pulling a 2012 Open Range 5er. My 5er has the cutouts also. I have tested how titht you can turn the unit. NOT 90*. That cost me a rear window. That said, how many times do you think you're going to try to turn...
Dealers lie! Mostly because they dont know/care. My Trailite WH was only propane, I believe. If there is a small rocker switch on the external acess to the WH, you should have supplimental electric heat for the unit.
Go with the 1 ton for sure. Diesel for sure. I would either stay with the Ford 7.3 in a used unit or the new Ford or Chevy. BTW, I have a 2011 F-250 king cab short bed 4x4 diesel. I love it AND it fits in my residential garage. The issue is not height, but length! FYI, market research indicates...
Banks recommends 4"past the turbo. When I put one on my old, normally aspirated 7.3, the Banks info said to tune for 1050*as a normal running temp. And yes, in that location, 1200 for any time could certainly cause catastrophic failure.
