    couple questions about the roof.

If the top isn't solid, use a ladder as much as you can.  If you have to stand on it, use a sheet of plywood to spread your weight.  If it's really flimsy, you may have bigger problems than which products you should seal it with. I'd find out exactly what the roof is made of before choosing a...

Solar: If you had to chose...more batteries OR more panels?

Would you rather have 400 watts of panels and two deep cycle batteries (225 amp hours) OR 200 watts of panels and four deep cycle batteries (450 amp hours).  I've got space on the roof for the panels, no problem, but I'd have to do some serious rearranging to add two more batteries.  I'm...

Solar AND shore power at the same time.

I'm aware of this... The real cost savings would come from being able to spend a couple months of the year NOT at an RV site.  Just having the freedom to be able to do this...there's value in that as well.  Perhaps that's where MOST of the value is.  Extra savings while plugged in to shore...

Solar AND shore power at the same time.

I know that they are compatible and can work together no problem, but that's not the issue. I want the solar power to take precedence over the shore power....shore power is only used when solar isn't enough.  Rather than shore power running everything and the solar is just keeping the batteries...

Solar AND shore power at the same time.

I'm thinking about adding some solar panels... Obviously they're useful when not plugged in to shore power, but how does solar power interact with shore power? Ideally, what I'd like to do while at a campsite with shore power, is to have most items (TV, lights, Laptop, etc) running off solar...

Older Diesel or Newer Entry Level Gas

I just took a good look at the 08 Fiesta LX 34N.  The floor plan is exactly what I'm looking for.  It's in really nice condition.  33,000 miles.  It won't have all of the benefits of a DP, but it's also not 15 years old, which is roughly how old a DP would be in my price range.  I won't have...

Would you trust a 30 amp coach with EMS and two ACs?

Perhaps...but will that be sufficient in high heat?  90-100 degree temps?

Would you trust a 30 amp coach with EMS and two ACs?

About to go full time... My biggest fear is leaving my dog in the coach during the day while I'm gone, and having the ACs shut off.  Whether it's caused by a loss of shore power, or the ACs pull too much current and trip the breaker. One of the coaches I'm looking at has 2 ACs, but only 30 amp...

Older Diesel or Newer Entry Level Gas

Good Price....but I'm in Minnesota.  :/ Maintenance cost will be tax deductible, yes, since I will be using it for a business.  It will also be my home which means other write offs.  Any one here an accountant? Haha.  I do my own taxes, but this might get tricky.  That brings up another...

Older Diesel or Newer Entry Level Gas

Yikes.  I knew it would be more, but didn't think it would be quite that much.  Then again a 99 diesel will probably depreciate less than an 08 gas.  I don't know if that will offset the extra maintenance costs, but it might make it a little easier to swallow... Zach

Older Diesel or Newer Entry Level Gas

Not sure...potentially a lot.  I'm planning to take a band on the road with it.  The last touring band I was in put over 15,000 miles on our van playing 100 shows in one year, but we took some gigantic cross country trips that I may or may not want to do again. Well I think my wishes are on...

Older Diesel or Newer Entry Level Gas

I'm not opposed to that at all.  I just left that option out because there aren't many around me at this time that fit into that category.  Those that do, have a few more miles on them than I would feel comfortable with.  Once they get up to 75,000 miles or so, it's less appealing to me.  I know...

Older Diesel or Newer Entry Level Gas

I'm currently shopping for my first used RV.  I plan to purchase in the next month or so, and then go full time.  I have looked at quite a few at this point, and I'm torn. My price range is 30-40k ideally.  At that range I have my eye on a few newer (2005-2009) entry level gas models with...

How to (NOT) annoy your neighbors :)

Hmm...What about a Diesel coach?  Will the heftier construction help at all?  Zach
