    US 285 TX to NM

US 285, Carlsbad to I-40 (Cline's Corners), is in fine shape. We took our rig to Carlsbad from here in Santa Fe last Thanksgiving. It's almost all divided 4-lane with a 65 mph speed limit. I can't recall any stretches of less than good surface, either. Also, Not too many towns to slow you down...

Thanks for the info, guys. Well, we're off on our first real shakedown this morning. Heading down to Carlsbad. Wish us luck! I'll let y'all know how it went in a few days.

    First time out

I'd been wondering if the preferred method of running the frig while on the road was to run it on AC using the generator or to run it on propane. My sense is that propane would be more effiicent, unless you had some other reason for needing the generator. My question then, Ned and others, is, do...

    White balance adjustment

For some critical work, I'll use a gray card to reference against. This'll really only work if you're shooting raw and post processing. Not really a solution for landscapes, either... Greetings from New Mexico

Thanks for the welcome. Wendy, lovely country you're from as well. In fact, Mesa Verde is high on my list of destinations. I'm particularly interested in trying it in the winter. I understand that it's great for cross country skiing when there is sufficient snow. And Jim, I like your thinking...

    Hi everybody

Hey Yukon, It really is remarkable how easy a 5er tows. We had 30 footer some years ago that I pulled with an F250. I'd practically forget it was back there. Glad you're finding your fears unfounded. One of our fantasy trips with our new class C is a run up the Alaska Highway. Happy Camping.

    Extended Warranties

My understanding was that you don't need to submit all the individual warranties that come with all the components of the rigs. Rather, that when you submit the warranty for the rig, it includes and warrants all the components. Geez, tell me this is correct. I really don't want to deal with all...

    Greetings from New Mexico

Hi all, Thought I'd finally take a moment to introduce myself... My name is Bill, and my wife, Sandra, our daughters, Zoe (14) and Jesse (9), and I just picked up our new class C this past Saturday. It's a '06 Winnebago Minnie Winnie 31C, and we're just champin' at the bit to get her (she...
