    Toolbox suggestions

A valve stem tool and a tire plug kit. Inexpensive, but invaluable when needed.

Crystal River Florida area RV campgrounds for winter

Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park in Crystal River...we stayed there in 2014 and 2015 and enjoyed it. It's changed hands since then, but it would be worth checking out.

    Travel without my wife.

You should read "Travels with Charley: In search of America" by John Steinbeck. Steinbeck toured the country in a pickup camper with his dog Charley. Great book!

It's almost like they're giving it away.

We bought a plug-in hybrid (Chrysler Pacifica) in September. We've put 2000 miles on it and It's used 5 gallons of gas in that time. We have a rooftop solar installation, so the charging has been essentially "free." Most of our daily driving is local, and within the 37 mile electric range.

We have a small fire proof briefcase to store important papers and cash while on the road. Passports, vaccine cards, vehicle titles and the like.

    Electric Vehicle charging?

Seriously considering an EV as my next vehicle. I have a rooftop solar system at my home in Florida that works flawlessly. I produce more power than I consume, so charging at home would be ideal. What are my options for charging during extended trips away from home?

    HWH leveler

I tried to order a slide out solenoid from HWH this summer with no luck. They're so backed up it's unbelievable. Luckily I found this source for HWH parts and had the part in hand three days later. Give them a call. Stuart's Service, Inc. 2990 County Road 6 West Elkhart, IN 46514 800-826-6267

This is a great forum for info and trouble shooting issues. The Triton V10 is bullet proof in my experience.

    Slide creep fixed!

I will try to make this as short as possible, but wanted to post as this may help others. The main slide on my 2006 Winnebago Journey suddenly started to creep out after it was retracted. ( We have a HWH hydraulic leveling system, which also operates the slides.) After hours of research, I...

    Travel from Florida to Michigan

My preferred route from Spring Hill FL to Michigan is US19 north (zero traffic N of Crystal River.) to I-10W to Hwy 231W, to I-65N at Montgomery. (We stay the night in Montgomery at The Woods Campground just off I-65.) Next day I-65N to around Sheperdsville, KY. (Grandma's RV Park has pull...

    Slide creeping in/out

I'm currently dealing with this situation on my '06 Winnebago Journey. The living room slide started creeping out a few days ago. I have a HWH hydraulic system that runs the leveling jacks and the slides. 4 large solenoids for each of the jacks, and 4 smaller solenoids for the two slides...
