I cant really answer your question.  But remember that the carrying capacity number includes everything in the trailer: clothes, food, water etc

    Major issues here....

I have an 8 ton bottle jack that I purchased when I had a 5th wheel.  It is compact and easy to store.  I do not plan to use the jack on my 36' motorhome, but carry it for emergency or to help others.  If I blow a tire I'll be calling AAA.  If you plan to keep it elevated so you can work on it...

    old - new RVer

I've been an RVer for years and member of this forum for some time.  Just traded our pick up and5th wheel for an 36 foot 06 HR Neptune motor home.  So this is a new experience for us and new things to learn.  :-) We are excited and having fun setting up the new (to us) coach.

    RECALLS

Terry, You should be able to get the brake recall done by Ford  and the Norcold done by most any RV repair facility.  I have a Dometic and when they had a recall on their fridge I took it to a local shop and they did it at no charge to me. You can do a Google search for Norcold Recalls for...

modifications: cathode ray to Flat screen TV install

Take a look in our library (button at the top of the screen) then look at "conversion & remodels" I think you will find some info there.  I did a modification to our 5th wheel and here is PDF file of what I did.  I think that the others may be correct, getting a combo unit may be a bad idea.

Route from Bend OR to Pahrump, NV

Well, I'm not sure what you mean when you say "bad road conditions"  Typically I-5 if the most direct and best maintained route going south.  You will have to cross the mountains at the Oregon / California border and there may be snow on the road, but they do a pretty good job of cleaning the...

    Rug Non-skid Backing Worn Off

I have seen  rubber matting that is intended to be placed under rugs to keep them from slipping.  Off the top of my head I can't remember a store name, but they were in the same area where the rugs were sold. Here is a web site with a sample...

    Our first earth quake

geodrake, If you ever in another emergency situation and can't use your cell you should try sending a text message.  Text uses much less bandwith and will go through when you are unable to call. Here in California we have had similar cases of cell phone grid lock when everyone uses the phone...

    rebuild generator

Are you sure that it needs a rebuild?  It may simply that you have an issue with the production system, control board or a minor adjustment.  If i were you I'd evaluate the issue and get professional help to determine what is needed.

    94 Tioga Electrical

I can't answer all of your questions, but your fridge is probably fine.  The control circuits for the fridge are 12V so you need 12V regardless of whether you are running on propane or 120v.  I don't think you have any problem with the fridge to be concerned about. Sounds like you have...

    Flush ball seal????

I had a similar issue and poured a little olive oil around the seal and that fixed it.  I suspect it was just somewhat dried out.

    winegard antenna

I am assuming that you are turning on your antenna amplifier.  If you are unsure of my statement then you should look near the TV for a panel with a 12 v outlet and a small switch with pilot light.  This amplifies any signal that you may be receiving on the antenna.  (The switch is only used...

    AC power at campsite

I agree with Gary.  Another possible answer could be caused if the 30 amp breaker you are trippin is in one particular park?  If the park voltage fluctuates and goes low it may be causing you to draw more amperage.  Seems like I've heard of this in other forums.  Just a thought.

    "Fresh" Water Tank

We live in Southern CA and think of our 5th wheel as both an RV and a "life boat".  As mentioned, an earthquake or other major event can leave you in bad shape.  I try to ensure that we keep our propane, water, wet cell trailer batteries, full and ready.  We always keep canned goods aboard, and...
