Radical upgrade/conversion of a GMC Motorhome

Thanks, Matt, Gary and everybody for the interesting responses. I have now been part of the Facebook Forum "Classic GMC Motorhomes" for a couple of years and every day I find something new to convince me that these coaches are the way I want to go to get out onto the open road. Amazing discovery...

    New motorhomes with a TPMS?

Hey mate, you will find lots of things like that. Bureaucracy is not obligated to have any rhyme or reason behind its decisions. Down this way, if you have a truck over 4.5t (or is it 8t?) you have to have a Log Book to record your hours of driving and your required rest breaks. If there is a...

    E-Motorhome

LOL, true words. Thursday I was Supervising Driver for my Son and DIL. In Australia, Learner Drivers have to have an experienced Driver with them. Though they are 42 + 37 they hadn't picked p their License before now. So, Thursday I stepped in as Supervisor because my dear was down with a cold...

    E-Motorhome

G'day to you, Al. I have not got a Motorhome yet, though I joined with this Framily back in 1996 on CompuServe. One day there will be a GMC Motorhome in my driveway, packed and ready to go. I know there are only 25 of them here in Australia so if none of those are available when I get the $$$s...

Agree completely. I watched the launch of this Winnebago Concept and I felt so unimpressed with it. They tacked bits of technology onto it like they were bandaids. From the look of it, very little actual Innovative planning and design have been done. They just took an IC model and rejigged it to...

That is a good point that I had not considered. is it likely to make much of a difference in normal travel situations?

Radical upgrade/conversion of a GMC Motorhome

;D Thanks everybody for joining in. Such great interest in this kind of vehicle. I found the Australian site for the GMC folks and there are at least 2 in my city, probably others too, most appear to be down south of me. Once we get back to travelling around safely I plan on contacting them...

Radical upgrade/conversion of a GMC Motorhome

From what I can find out it was considered to be ahead of its time though its time was 1973 - 78. Things have changed since then but at the time it was considered to be great. GMC produced over 12,000 of them and about 40% are still on the roads. Not sure about the power of them. Most of them...

Radical upgrade/conversion of a GMC Motorhome

Now I am not sure where this one belongs so I will leave it here and Tom can work out what to do with it LOL In the last month or so I have fallen in love with an Impossible Dream - the iconic GMC Motorhome. I just love it but chances of owning one and getting it Downunder and getting it...

No, I didn't get lost, just took more turns than I should have ;)

ROFL. My Dad was notorious at getting lost. Inevitably my Mum would explode at him. His response was always to calmly point out to her that he wasn't lost, he had just found a new way to get there ;)

Hello John, such great news about the radio. My other main hobby is Model Railways, specifically N scale T-TRAK modular railways. This is a quick overview of my current building activities... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rC_33pBGxLE One thing with T-TRAK, being modular and table-top it...
