    Women that drive RVs

And in our case, as it is my best friend Laurie, it will be two women driving!  As we were seeing the Class As on the road, they looked so intimidating!  But both of us are so adventurous that nothing will stop us. RV show, test drive and then buy!  Perhaps we may even rent as we are presently...

    Class C Motorhomes: Feedback please!

Thanks all for the responses! Tom, can you clarify??  They make a Class A the same size as a Class C?  I thought all of the Class A RVs were the huge bus-like things! And yes, you hit right on it, the shorter wheelbase and chassis.  Seems like a design flaw to me.  And VERY intersting about...

    Women that drive RVs

Well, I am wondering, as we are just back from the National Parks, men always seem to be driving. So raise your hand if you are a woman that drives the RV!  And do you even manage to drive the huge Class A motorhomes!  Where did you learn to drive it?  Thanks! Lisa

    Class C Motorhomes: Feedback please!

Well, we just got back from Zion and Bryce National parks.  Now that I am looking around at RVs, gosh, we saw a lot of the CruiseAmerica rental ones.  Some were larger than others, and I am curious, on the longer ones, there seems to be a lot of RV behind the back wheels.  It almost seems like...

    Newmar RVs: WOW

I checked Newmar's website out...now that's what I am talking about!  The Fifth wheels and the motorhomes are gorgeous.  It seems like they have a "conscience" too, as they really care about putting out a good product. The interiors seem well done, the only thing I would change are the bedrooms...

    American made only?

Lindsay, The Newmar RVs sound wonderful....and someone else commented that they seem to have better quality.  I like the fact that they keep a low inventory, this tells me that perhaps they are not mass producing. I will check them out at the next RV show, thanks so much. Lisa

BEST Class A Motorhome you have ever owned?

Tom and Wendy, Some great points, and Tom I expecially find it interesting that over 16 years you haven't seen too many changes/improvements.  Wendy, that is a riot, yes, let's have the RV builder live in them for a while!! How many RV owners are their nationwide, I am so curious?  Obviously...

BEST Class A Motorhome you have ever owned?

No disrespect, Mc2Guy, but consumer reports shows horrible reliablity for american made cars, as well as some of the pricey German cars.  It's good to hear that some ford products might be doing better, but I do know what I am talking about, as I always take great care in doing research before...

BEST Class A Motorhome you have ever owned?

Wendy, Absolutely I am going to an RV show!  I definitely have to lower my expectations about quality, and make sure I take some "fix it" lessons so I can stay on top of all the repairs that will be required.  Yes, a home on wheels is definitely different than a car....but then again, why can't...

BEST Class A Motorhome you have ever owned?

Thanks for the great advice.  What a shame that RVs in general are just not built well.  But again, as I stated in another thread, this is why I buy Japanese cars, and also, japanese components for my bicycles. The richest nation in the world, The US of A, produces junk.  My word, it seems like...

BEST Class A Motorhome you have ever owned?

I've gone to the library and looked up the RV section and how to buy.  But I am curious, what is the best Class A motorhome you have owned?  Most reliable, least repairs, brands you would recommend looking at.  We will be full timing it, so we are going for the full monty! Thanks! Lisa

    American made only?

Ahhh, Mercedes...since it became Daimler/Chrystler they have gone right down the hopper!!  yes, I know that they are all built here in the States.  Too bad they haven't jumped into this market. Ok, then the next best question would be, what RV has had the best repair record (or least repairs)...

    American made only?

Sorry, but I am not a big fan of american made cars.  Does Honda or Toyota make an RV?  I realize how unamerican this is, as RVing really is like baseball and apple pie.  But no one can deny that Toyota and Honda make the most reliabel and repair free cars. thanks Lisa

    Newbie from Arizona

Thanks so much!  The library is terrific and has some great information.  It's nice you have the library, as so many other forums don't, and repeat questions are often asked. I think we are going to rent different RVs at first to get a feel of them, and see what style might best suit our...

Most common cost for hooking up at a campsite

I did a search and could not find anything on what a typical cost for hooking up at a campsite is.  What does "hooking up" include?  Electric, water? Thanks! Lisa
