    RV Furnace Blower Problem

I've looked at all the troubleshooting guides and can't find this problem we're having with our Suburban propane furnace blower. Two separate times now, weeks apart, the blower has come on for no reason at all. The thermostat was off both times. It wasn't particularly cold out either time...just...

No Signal or Brake Lights on Toad Left Side

Just in case anyone has this problem, you should know the answer for us was twofold...not only did we have to change the broken receptacle at the toad, but we also had to replace the left turn signal/left brake light (toad) fuse that had blown. That fuse is found in a box in the engine...

No Signal or Brake Lights on Toad Left Side

The driver's side signal light and brake light on our toad (Jeep Wrangler), when hooked up to our motorhome, have recently stopped working. The right side works fine. The Jeep, by itself/not hooked up works fine. The motorhome lights are fine, too.  To the eye, the cord and connectors appear to...

    House Battery Replacement

We have 4 6v golf cart batteries in our motorhome and are switching to Trojan AGM batteries. What are the advantages/disadvantages of switching to 12v (2 or 4?) batteries as opposed to 6v (4). Is there a size issue to consider? AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH, we see this question is way too...

4th Annual New Year's Rally at Catalina State Park

Jane and Bill Berry have just arrived at Catalina and hope to catch all of you between visits with our son and daughter-in-law, who are also visiting the area. We may not stay through New Years Day. As I am writing, there is a 17 y.o. being rescued here at Romero Pools after he fell yesterday...

Having MCD shades installed in cockpit.

That sounds like quite a huge project. I'll be doing only the valences and dining chairs, which now seems less intimidating now that I've read about all the work you (or should I say Lee) put into those captains chairs and couch. I'm inspired now. Thanks for all the information.

Having MCD shades installed in cockpit.

Although the MCD shades were expensive, we love them and are very, very happy we made the change. Just last month we replaced our KingDome with the Winegard Trav'ler HD dish...wish we had done it sooner. It works! We are thinking about recovering our chairs and valences. Did you do it yourself...

Camping area in the Chicago area??

This may be too late for your October trip, but we recently stayed at the Burnidge Forest Preserve/ Paul Wolff Campground in Elgin, IL about 40 miles northwest of Chicago. It's a beautiful campground with 50 amp service and water spigots scattered that you can hook up to if it's not too busy...

Rewiring Old Coax with New HDMI Cable

And in our ignorance, we assumed because our HD wasn't coming in that it must have been our cables. Yes, HDMI cables would be an improvement, but in our case not necessary. It was the B-Band Converters that we needed and got.

Rewiring Old Coax with New HDMI Cable

Well, after a very long but productive phone call to DirecTV, we have fixed the problem without rewiring the coach with HDMI cable. That may be something we would want to do down the road, but right now we have the HD we were looking for using the existing component (blue, green, red) cables...

Rewiring Old Coax with New HDMI Cable

Thanks for both informative answers. We now know what we need to do. Since it's not practical to relocate our receiver and dvd player, we'll creatively get the HDMI cable through the coach to the TV. We're open to suggestions as to routing that cable as discretely as possible.

Rewiring Old Coax with New HDMI Cable

We have an HD TV and a DirecTV Plus HD DVR Receiver. Our coach's interior is wired with coax cable. We need to replace the coax with HDMI cable in order to get the HD we have subscribed to. To make things more confusing, we also have a DVD player hooked into the mix. The DVD player doesn't have...

    Big Bend National Park

Hi Rod. Big Bend is a beautiful park...great hiking, birding, scenery, etc., etc. 1. RV parks near park? If you want to stay within the park, there are 3 NP campgrounds in Big Bend with no hookups...Rio Grande Village (our vote) and Cottonwood both are nice and can accommodate any size...

    Michigan's UP - any suggestions?

In Paradise, MI visit the Shipwreck Museum. Copper Harbor's Fort Wilkins Historic State Park is a great place to camp and explore. Stop at The Jampot near Eagle River on M26 (near Copper Harbor) to buy marvelous cookies, cakes, preserves, etc. made and sold by the residents of the Society of...
